Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Padmé Amidala is the teenage queen of the planet Naboo, who becomes the lover of Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi knight who would later become Darth Vader. She is first mentioned in 'Return of the Jedi', but appears on-screen in 'The Phantom Menace'. In 'Attack of the Clones', ten years later, she is a Senator and Anakin is her bodyguard. They marry on Naboo in secret and in 'Revenge of the Sith', she dies while giving birth to her twin children, Leia and Luke. She is played by Natalie Portman.

Wedge Antilles, aka Red Two, is an X-wing pilot who appears in 'A New Hope' and takes part in the Battle of Yavin; he is one of the few survivors. In 'The Empire Strikes Back', he joins the Rogue Squadron, and in 'Return of the Jedi', he leads the attack on the Death Star and blows up a power regulator. He also briefly appears in 'The Rise of Skywalker', manning a gun turret. He is played by Denis Lawson.

Lando Calrissian is a pilot, playboy, conman and old friend of Han Solo, who owned the Millennium Falcon until he lost it to Solo in a bet. He lives in Cloud City on the planet Bespin and welcomes Han and his friends, only to betray them to Darth Vader in 'The Empire Strikes Back'; he does this because Vader has threatened to put Cloud City under the Galactic Empire's control otherwise. However, he helps Leia and Chewbacca escape, and in 'Return of the Jedi', he helps rescue Han from Jabba the Hutt. He leads the attack on the Death Star and blows up the power core. In 'The Rise of Skywalker', Lando's daughter has been kidnapped and he is living on a desert planet, Pasaana. Although he is reluctant to help Rey and her friends at first, he later travels the galaxy to recruit veterans and joins the Resistance in the Millennium Falcon. He is played by Billy Dee Williams.

Chewbacca is a Wookiee, a large, hairy, yeti-like creature who speaks in groans and has super strength. He is Han Solo's co-pilot on the Millennium Falcon and helps Luke Skywalker and Solo rescue Princess Leia from the Death Star when her home planet of Alderaan is blown up. When Lando betrays them, Han asks Chewbacca to look after Leia and Chewbacca almost kills Lando in revenge. In 'The Force Awakens', he shoots Kylo Ren in revenge after Ren kills Solo and helps destroy Starkiller Base, while rescuing Rey and Finn. In 'The Last Jedi', he pilots the Millennium Falcon. He is played by Peter Mayhew in the original films and Joonas Suotamo in 'The Last Jedi' onwards.

Boba Fett is a Mandalorian bounty hunter who was cloned from the original prototype, Jango Fett, and raised by him as his 'son'. After Jango's death, Boba inherits his ship, Slave I. In 'Star Wars', Darth Vader sends him and a group of bounty hunters to capture the crew of the Millennium Falcon. He accompanies Jabba to the Sarlacc pit, where the prisoners are due to be executed, but Han Solo accidentally activates his rocket pack, sending Boba into the side of the sail barge and then into the Sarlacc's mouth. However, he is later revealed to have survived. Spin-off material reveals that his birth name was Alpha. He is played by Jeremy Bulloch in the films and Temuera Morrison in 'The Mandalorian' (where he is shown without his helmet) and its spin-off, 'The Book of Boba Fett'.

Leia Organa, or Leia Skywalker, is one of the main characters of the original series, the princess of Alderaan and the daughter of Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker (although she was adopted by the Organa family). She is captured by the Empire and forced to watch Alderaan being destroyed, while being held on the Death Star. She is later rescued by Chewbacca, Luke and Solo. In 'The Empire Strikes Back', she leads the evacuation of the rebel base on the ice planet Hoth and falls in love with Solo. After Lando's betrayal, she is handed over to Jabba the Hutt, and forced to become his slave, after she tries to escape; she later strangles him to death with her chain. In 'Return of the Jedi', she finds out that Luke is her brother and Darth Vader, their father. She becomes a general and marries Solo, and they have a son, Ben, who grows up to be the warlord Kylo Ren. In 'The Rise of Skywalker', she dies and Ren senses her death with the Force. She is played by Carrie Fisher, who died before 'The Rise of Skywalker' came out.

R2-D2 is a little white droid, often seen in the company of the tall golden humanoid droid C-3PO. Although R2-D2 cannot talk, C-3PO still understands him. He originally belonged to the Naboo defense forces, and is one of the few witnesses at Padmé and Anakin's wedding. Before Leia is captured in 'Star Wars', she puts an information disc in R2-D2 with the blueprints for the Death Star, and has him send out a distress signal. The droids crash-land on Tatooine. Owen and Beru, Luke's uncle and aunt, buy the droids from some Jawas and Luke discovers the message, and goes to look for Obi-Wan Kenobi, setting off a chain of events that culminates in R2-D2 giving the plans to the Rebel Alliance. In 'The Rise of Skywalker', he helps C-3PO get his memory back. He is played by Kenny Baker in the original films, Deep Roy in the prequels and Jimmy Vee in the sequels.

Han Solo is another main character of the original series, a smuggler and the pilot of the Millennium Falcon. When he first appears, he is on the run from Jabba the Hutt. He helps Luke Skywalker rescue Leia from the Death Star and later saves Luke during the Battle of Yavin. In 'The Empires Strikes Back', he is captured and trapped in carbonite, and given to Jabba as a decoration. In 'Return of the Jedi', he escapes from Jabba and later helps the Ewoks destroy the Death Star's shield generator. Many years later, in 'The Force Awakens', he is killed by Kylo Ren, who impales him with his light sabre, while rescuing Rey from Starkiller Base. He is played by Harrison Ford.

Rose Tico is a mechanic from Hays Minor, who first appears in 'The Last Jedi'. She finds Finn, a rogue Storm Trooper, trying to escape a Resistance cruiser in a pod and the two go to the casino city of Canto Bight, along with BB-8, to get a codebreaker. They are arrested for entering illegally and although a slicer helps them to escape, he turns out to be working for the First Order and betrays them to General Hux and Captain Phasma. BB-8 helps them escape and Rose later saves Finn from a suicide attack, injuring herself in the process. In 'The Rise of Skywalker', she is head of the Engineering Corps. She is played by Kelly-Marie Tran.

Mace Windu is an extremely powerful Jedi Master who appears in the prequels and is notable for having a purple lightsabre. He disapproves of Anakin training as a Jedi, as he thinks that Anakin is too unstable and at risk of turning to the Dark Side (he later turns out to be right), but is forced to allow it after Qui-Gon Jinn is killed. In 'Attack of the Clones', he leads the operation to rescue Obi-Wan from Count Dooku and kills Jango Fett. In 'Revenge of the Sith', he tries to kill Darth Sidious but is stopped by Anakin, who cuts his hand off, as he wants Sidious to teach him how to prevent Padmé's death and needs him alive. Windu is then killed by Sidious. He is played by Samuel L. Jackson.

As for the other characters, Durand Durand is the villain from 'Barbarella', and the band Duran Duran got their name from him. Lone Starr is the hero of 'Spaceballs', a parody of 'Star Wars' and other such films. Neytiri is a Na'vi, a blue humanoid alien from the planet Pandora, from 'Avatar'. Paul Atreides is the teenage hero of 'Dune', and Thufir Hawat is a Mentat, a kind of human computer, who acts as an advisor to Paul's father Duke Leto.
