He wanted it to stop, and when he got a breath of regular air, he thought that regular air never tasted better. She then took him to her house, where he could heal. There, she said, "I'm your number one fan."

Annie gave Paul two capsules every six hours, and actually almost killed him with an accidental overdose. Paul even got addicted to the Novril as the story progressed.
