Answer: 18

Two-Bit liked school and was still a Junior at 18. It is stated that 'he never learned anything and just went to keep the teachers busy since their lives are too boring'.
2. What was one of Ponyboy's favorite things to do that Darry hated? Hint: Where was he walking home from at the beginning of the book?

Answer: New York

Dallas had spent '3 years on the wild side of New York'.
4. How old was Dallas in the story?

Answer: 17

Dallas is 17 at the time of the story and his death. (Age given on approx. Pg. 67 of the hardback, when Johnny and Pony go to Merril's place) He had been first jailed at the tender young age of 10. They never say what for.
5. What was Johnny's nickname in the book?

Answer: Johnnycake

'Johnnycake' was the gang's pet nickname for Johnny although Dallas seemed to use it the most.
6. What was Two-Bit's girlfriend's name? Hint: Mentioned during the hitchhiking scene with Two-Bit and Ponyboy before they go see Johnny in the hospital.

7. What was Ponyboy adamant about towards the end of the book and during the court proceedings?

Answer: That it had been him, not Johnny, who killed the Soc

By this point Ponyboy was in total denial about much of the prior week's events. He had it in his head that he had been the one to kill Bob and was going to say so during court, but they never asked him any questions about it.
8. What was the one thing that Dallas did honestly? (Hint- check on about page 69 of the book)?

Answer: Rodeo

Answer: Steve Randal; Yes, toward the end of the book

10. Why did Soda drop out of school?

Answer: To get a job and keep Pony in school

'It's no big deal. The only things I was passing was auto mechanics and gym anyway.' Soda wanted to make sure that Pony stayed in school because he 'was the brains of the family'.
