Aly's real name is indeed Alianne; I guess Tamora Pierce needed something that sounded like her twin brother's name, Alan.

2. Aly's patron god has many names; what is the most common name in the Copper Isles of Aly's patron god?

Answer: Kyprioth

Funnily enough, Kyprioth is also Aly's father's patron god. I suppose that is how Kyprioth came to know of Aly's talent. Anyway, he is a tricky blighter with a wicked sense of humor.

3. Chenaol is Aly's first friend in the household; everyone can see that she is a cook, but what major part does she play in the Raka conspiracy?

Answer: she controls the armories

Aly actually realized this in the first book. The Raka needed a way to get knives and other weapons. Who better to get them than a cook, especially one who can tell good steel from bad at a glance?

4. Nawat is Aly's love interest; what was Nawat before he became a man?

Answer: a crow

Well, I almost gave this question away! When I typed it up the first time I put Nawat Crow, well thats a bit of a giveaway. Anyway, Nawat is indeed Aly's love interest, he is more like a crow with human habits and a human body. He is supposed to be very handsome though.

5. Saraiyu and Dovasary Balitang are sisters, both of them with the Rittevon (Luarin) and Haiming (Raka) blood lines...why is this important?

Answer: it makes them twice royal, part of a Raka prophecy that fuels the rebellion

The prophecy of the twice royal queen was thought to be answered through Sarai, the hotheaded beautiful one, but it was actually Dove, the younger, smarter, more sensible one who came through for the Raka. Sarai ran away to marry a Carthaki Healer.

6. When Aly goes to the Rittevon palace she meets the man in charge of the King's Guard. Does he threaten Aly or compliment her on her prodigious skill?

Answer: he compliments her

He compliments Aly quite profusely on her skill, especially since she remembered to look up, you know, at the ceiling, the place everyone forgets in most books and movies.

7. Topabaw is the chief of intelligence in the Copper Isles. What does he do to Aly so that she will divulge secrets about the Balitangs?

Answer: he gives her wine laced with truth spells

While Aly does get drugged with the truth spells, she doesn't divulge anything. She goes into her liar's palace and tells Topabaw everything he WANTS to hear.

8. After the final battle, princess Imajane is locked in her room. What does she do?

Answer: throws herself out of the window

Aly sees her from the entrance to the Rittevon Enclosure and is very disturbed. She refuses to look at the window where she knows the queen is because she doesn't want to witness her death.

Answer: Yes

Rubinyan does indeed die; he wasn't very nice.

Answer: no, she stays and helps
