Answer: a bear

Milo looks out the window and sees the bear coming up to the shack. The bear uses his teeth and paw to open the door to the shack and comes inside. Milo hides in a dresser but the bear can smell him and begins looking for him.

2. What happens after the intruder animal comes into the shack?

Answer: Milo drops something on their head and they leave.

This is one of the funniest scenes in the movie. Milo teases the bear by sticking his tail, his paw, or his head out of a drawer and saying "I'm up here, come and get me." The bear gets very frustrated and begins to tear the dresser apart so Milo climbs up to the top and drops something (a fishing buoy?) on the bear's head and the bear leaves.

3. After leaving the shack, Milo climbs up a tree and encounters a snake, what happens?

Answer: Milo falls out of the tree.

Milo tries to climb up farther into the top branches to get away from the snake, but he loses his grip and falls into a pit that is dug into the ground below the tree. Milo tries to climp out, but the pit is too deep.

Answer: Otis finds Milo

Otis finds Milo in the pit and tries to save him. First he tries to use a tree branch but it is too short. Otis then finds a rope that he uses to pull Milo out and they continue to try and find a way back home.

Joyce is a white cat. Milo and Otis are walking in a field when they see her in the distance. It is love at first sight for Milo and he starts to act very silly. Otis begins to be jealous of the attention Milo is giving Joyce.

Otis decides that he's had enough of Milo and Joyce acting like love crazy kids and tells them that he's going to go over the mountains. Milo tries to stop him but Otis runs off and never looks back.

After Otis leaves them, Milo and Joyce continue on their way to the farm. The weather starts to get colder and winter is setting in, so they look for shelter. They find a hollow tree trunk and decide to make it their home.

The first big snowfall of winter has come and Otis is walking through the woods when he hears cries for help. He asks the person where they are and hears them say that they are stuck in ice and can't get out. Otis walks closer and sees a girl pug. He falls in love with her and begins to act rather silly, finally understanding what came over Milo.

After Otis finds Sondra, she tells him about a cave that she has been living in. Otis decides that it would make a nice home and moves in with her.

Milo and Joyce have seven kittens and the only name we hear for them is towards the end when we hear Milo call one of them Milo Jr. When Sondra has the puppies, Otis runs outside shouting "It's a litter!" When he comes back inside he asks her what they're going to name them and she says that she already did and explains that they all have French names.

Milo comes to the window and says "Look what the blizzard blew in!" Otis and Milo then share the news about their new families and Milo knocks some fish down for Otis.

After knocking the fish down for Otis, Milo tells him that he really misses him. Then the narrator says that they agree to meet in the spring with their families and continue on their way home.

Almost all of the animals Milo and Otis encountered are shown with babies at the end. I always thought it was weird that they did not show the bear with a cub. The bear is an important character that appears many times, but you don't see anything about it after the shack.

Dudley Moore was born on April 19, 1935. When the film came to America and was revamped with new music, Moore was chosen to do the new narration. He died on March 27, 2002.

There are many movies that have cats and dogs as friends.
