Trumbo, a member of the "Hollywood 10" (and talented screenwriter of "Spartacus") wrote this anti-war novel. "York" was Gary Cooper's
movie. "Front" was by Erich Maria Remarque.

Answer: Errol Flynn stars with Olivia DeHavilland - but doesn't end up with her at the end of the movie

Olivia prefers Flynn's brother (in the movie) - so Flynn doesn't lose as much when he rides "into the valley of Death". (Re-made later with David Hemmings in the lead.)
