Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first shot of President Bill Mitchell showed him arriving at the White House. How did he get there?

Answer: Helicopter

The chopper set down and he and his wife stepped out in front of all the press people.
2. The first shot of Dave showed him impersonating the president at an auto dealership. How did Dave get onto the stage?

Answer: by pig

He rode onto the stage on the back of a pig. This was a nice contrast to Mitchell's cinematic entrance.
3. What hand gesture did President Mitchell make frequently, that Dave picked up on?

Answer: thumbs up

President Mitchell gave the gesture when he stepped out of the chopper in his first scene. Dave made it when riding the pig onto the dealership's stage.
4. When Dave returned to his office after the stint at the car dealership, three women were awaiting his services. Lola was in his office crying, and from what she told Dave, it seemed the problem was computer-related. What did Lola say she learned on?

Answer: IBM

She said she learned on the IBM, but they put her on "the Wang." She didn't want Dave to blame her for having lost the job. Not to worry, though, he got her a new one.
5. How did Dave get to and from his office?

Answer: Bike

Dave rode a bike to and from work. When he needed a car (as when he needed to drive Lola to Murray's), he borrowed his secretary's.
6. When Dave returned to his home after getting Lola a job with Murray, what game were kids playing in the street in front of his building?

Answer: Baseball

Dave also seemed to like the game. He had a baseball mitt in his office drawer, asked Murray if he wanted to play some ball, and caught the kids' ball as he rode by their game.
7. As Dave approached and entered his home after procuring Lola's new job, he was singing a song from what musical?

Answer: Oklahoma

He got really creative with the song when he was inside, but stopped immediately when he saw the Secret Service guys.
8. When the Secret Service guys first introduced themselves, what did Dave think they were there to talk to him about?

Answer: Taxes

Dave immediately started in on an explanation: "I swear I thought that was a legitimate deduction, see, I do impersonation, so I use that television for my work." Duane interrupted him to say they weren't there about Dave's taxes.
9. For his last speech, President Mitchell took the podium and mentioned a Yale friend of his who had since become a public servant. What was he?

Answer: Judge

Mitchell referred to the man as Justice Blankfort, and said they hadn't seen one another since their days back at Yale.
10. When President Mitchell and Dave first met, Mitchell told Dave he was a very handsome man, but to get rid of the grin. What did Mitchell say the smile made Dave look like?

Answer: a schmuck

The president clearly wasn't the nicest (or most tactful) guy in the world.
11. For the night of President Mitchell's last speech, Dave was hired to wave and walk silently to his limo. He didn't do this, though, and instead stopped to say something to the crowd. What did he say?

Answer: God bless you. God bless America!

The Secret Service guys weren't too pleased, and all but shoved Dave into the limo as he concluded: "Thank you very much!"
12. When Duane got the call and told the limousine driver to take Dave back to the White House, what did he call it?

Answer: The Cottage

He simply, and somewhat ominously, instructed the driver: "Back to the cottage."
13. When Alan and Bob were talking to Dave about "extending" their arrangement, what did they have Dave try out in the Oval Office?

Answer: sitting in the President's chair

They then asked Dave how it was, and he replied, "Oh, very nice."
14. What did Al and Bob tell Dave about Vice President Nance?

Answer: he was mentally unstable

Dave seemed surprised, but they reassured him that the Vice President was "certifiable."
15. In the analogy that Al and Bob used of driving through a red light, where did they say Dave was taking the United States of America?

Answer: the hospital

Al told him that the country was sick and Dave needed to get it to the hospital, so the legality of his continued impersonation shouldn't be a question.
