1. "If you don't move soon, I'm gonna start to decompose."

Answer: Julius

Julius Levinson (Judd Hirsch) says this to his son David (Jeff Goldblum), while they're playing a game of chess in the park, because David is taking a long time to make a move. He and his father are discussing why David is still wearing his wedding ring after he and Connie split up.

2. "Not even a four pointer. Go back to sleep."

Capt. Steve Hiller (Will Smith) & Jasmine (Vivica A. Fox) are asleep when the alien ship arrives in Los Angeles. Steve asks if it's an earthquake and Jasmine says the above line.

3. "Oh, my God. I gotta call my brother, my housekeeper, my lawyer. Nah, forget my lawyer."

Answer: Marty

David discovered why they have satellite disruption and tries to explain the situation to Marty (Harvey Fierstein), who is listening to a TV newscast. He later explains that it's like a game of chess. This explanation alarms Marty and he goes into this whole "I gotta call this person" schtick.

Jimmy (Harry Connick Jr.) is Steve's best friend. After a briefing about the attack on the alien space-craft, Steve leads his squadron (The Black Knights) into battle. He regrets leaving Jasmine in LA, believing her to be dead. Jimmy assures him that she probably left before it happened. To try to cheer up Steve, he launches into his impression of Reverend Jesse Jackson. About 15 minutes later, he is killed by an alien space-craft.

After being chased in the desert by an alien spaceship, Steve manages to knock it out of commission with his aircraft's parachute. He punches out the alien and drags it through the desert while en route to Area 51. He said this because he thought his girlfriend was dead and he was mad.

6. "Mr. President! Wow! This is... what a pleasure. As you can imagine, they... they don't let us out much."

Dr. Okun (Brent Spiner) is Area 51's head of research. He is very much alive when he meets the president. He gets excited when Steve brings in the alien and attempts to do an autopsy. Unfortunately, the alien awakens during the autopsy and uses Dr. Okun to communicate with President Whitmore (Bill Pullman).

7. "Is Mommy sleeping now?"

Answer: Patricia Whitmore

After Steve and Jasmine reunite at El Toro, they bring the survivors back to Area 51. The First Lady is dying from internal bleeding due to the helicopter crash. After President Whitmore talks to his wife, he sits with his daughter Patricia (Mae Whitman). She asks him the above question, to which he replies, "Yeah, mommy's sleeping now". This signifies the death of the First Lady.

Before the final battle, President Whitmore briefs the pilots with this powerful speech to get them pumped up. After giving the speech, he gets ready to join the pilots in the battle.

Answer: Russell Casse

Russell Casse (Randy Quaid) is a father of 3 and a former crop-duster. He claims that he was abducted by aliens and now he wants a little retribution. Trying to figure out how to start the plane, he accidentally hits a button that fires the missiles. Luckily, he fixes the problem before someone gets hurt.

He sacrifices himself to destroy the alien spaceship after his last missile jams.

10. "Hey, take a look at the earthlings. Goodbye!"

Answer: David

Steve and David fly a repaired alien space-craft to the Mother Ship, hoping to take it and the other alien spaceships out with a computer virus. The spaceship gets stuck while trying to fly away. Steve Hiller and David Levinson are about to launch the bomb and fly out of the alien ship. They both wave to the alien watching them.
