Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening scene, who played the relative of Eddie's, who was a young girl singing?

Answer: Tatyana Ali

The little girl was played by Tatyana Ali. In the opening scene, she was singing "Why do Fools Fall in Love?" by Frankie Lymon.
You may also know Tatyana Ali from her role on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" starring Will Smith. She played Ashley Banks.
2. Who did Eddie Murphy see on the cover of a magazine, who was getting divorced?

Answer: Johnny Carson

It was this that launched Eddie Murphy's topic of the danger of giving half of your money after divorce. "Johnny must have had 300 million. He had to give his wife 150 million?"
Apparently giving a woman half of his money would upset him greatly (who wouldn't get upset?).

As many of you may already know, Johnny Carson was a famous late night talk show host, who was the subject of the famous call: "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeres Johnny!" Upon retiring, Carson was replaced by Jay Leno. Sadly, Johnny Carson has since passed away.
3. What movie did Eddie Murphy claim Italians went crazy for?

Answer: Rocky

To quote Eddie Murphy "After they see 'Rocky', they come out the theater charged! They be like 'Alright, Rocko! Alright Sly!'"

This was nearing the end of the show. Eddie had had a fight with an Italian man, and began to describe him in great detail. Then Eddie recalls a scenario in which an Italian man confronts a huge African-American man and challenges him, believing that he will win simply because he believed that the "Rocky" movies were real.
4. Which comedian did Murphy want to be, when he was 15?

Answer: Richard Pryor

When he was 15, Eddie Murphy wanted to be Richard Pryor so badly, that he would walk, talk and act like him. His whole act was about sitting on the toilet, but he made them sound like Richard Pryor jokes.

In case you don't know, Richard Pryor was a popular comedian in the 80s. He was so funny that when Comedy Central made a list of the 100 funniest stand-up comedians of all time, they ranked Pryor as number one!
5. Which of these did Eddie Murphy NOT do an impression of in the entire show?

Answer: Johnny Carson

Eddie Murphy did all of these impressions except Johnny Carson. He talked about Johnny Carson and his divorce and the horrors of giving half your money, but didn't impersonate him.
6. What was the name of the Bahamian guy who picked up the girl on the beach?

Answer: Dexter St. Jock

"What's a beautiful girl like you doing on the island of love all alone? This is the island for love, you should be being held right now." This was the "smooth, Bahamian" routine that Dexter St. Jock used on the woman on the beach.

Eddie Murphy got on this topic after discussing why men cheat on women.
7. At the party in the club (where Eddie met the Italian man), who was Eddie initially talking to?

Answer: Danny Terrio

After telling the audience that he was talking to Danny Terrio, Eddie said "Don't ask me why." It was after talking to him that Eddie began his fight with the Italian man.

Danny Terrio hosted the short lived show, "Dance Fever", which was created by Merv Griffin.
8. Which of these did Eddie's father NOT say he ate as a child?

Answer: Rubik's Cube

"My mother could make a Tonka Truck taste so delicious. The wheels would melt in your mouth, Eddie!"

"I sat down and ate it all by myself, Eddie!...Which one of you kids ate a whole game of Monopoly?"

"...I see other kids pulling out hostess cupcakes, and I have to eat a slinky!"

This was near the end of the entire show. Eddie's father tells Eddie about his poor childhood, where there was nothing to eat except what their father brought home from work (which was toys).
9. Which of these did Eddie's father NOT use as a belt as a child?

Answer: Spider-Man web

"We would wrap them around us and wear the Twister mat like a suit. Then we would get a Hot Wheels race track and put that around our waist like a belt, Eddie. And if there was no Hot Wheels, we used Johnny Lightning. And if there was no Johnny Lightning, we ripped up a hula hoop and put that around our waists, Eddie." This was also at the end of the show. Eddie was on the phone with his father, and his father was telling him about how he was poor as a child, and had to eat and wear toys.
10. Shawn Wayans helped write and produce the show.

Answer: False

It was actually Shawn Wayans' brother, Keenan Ivory Wayans, who helped create the show. The Wayans brothers are famous for their various roles in TV and movies. The best known of their jobs have been on the sketch comedy show, "In Living Color".
