Answer: Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe

Though Mike and Worm have not played poker together in a long time, they are able to quickly fall into rhythm together and clean out the "secret handshake" boys. He compares their teamwork to that of NY Knicks basketball legends, Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Earl "the Pearl" Monroe.

The film is based in NY City, thus Matt Damon references these two Knicks legends. However, the Boston native does get to make a Red Sox reference later in the film when he compares walking into KGB's place to "Buckner walking back into Shea".

Answer: Bill Jones

"Canada" Bill Jones was a three-card monte dealer and was known to use various tricks in order to cheat. When asked if he thought his cheating ways were immoral, he replied "it's immoral to let a sucker keep his money." Obviously the character Worm agreed with this motto.

We know that the game is Hearts because Worm "Shoots the Moon" which is a term for taking all point tricks. Here we get our first hint that Worm doesn't always play fair. The other players suspect that he is manipulating the deck.

Mike warns Worm that he should watch himself with these guys because they are "Russian outfit guys." The actors who portray Roman and Maurice have even more ethnic sounding first names: Slava and Goron.

Worm makes this witty remark when he and Mike find that Jo has packed up and moved out of Mike's apartment. At first Worm claims that this is an old saying but after Mike questions him we find that he made it up.

Chan defeated Seidel in 1988 to win his second consecutive WSOP title. The following year he finished second to Hellmuth. The scene that Mike is watching is significant because it is a prelude to his final hand with Teddy KGB. Both Chan and Mike flop the best possible hand and trap their opponents into betting their chips away.

They once paid the basketball players to throw a game and Worm got caught. He was expelled from school but never turned Mike in.

Law student, Mike, is trying to get a summer internship clerking at a law office. He impressed Judge Marinacci with his ability to read the players cards at the "judge's game".

Marinacci: "I don't bet with jobs like that. Let's just say I'll put you at the top of the list if you're right."
