It is a very odd way to name a band, but thus Tenacious D is born from JB (Jack Black) and KG (Kyle Gass). JB's birthmark is the word Tenac on his right buttock and KG's birthmark is Cious D on his left cheek. Combining them, they name the band. JB and KG are the ways their names appear in the end credits of "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny".

The Devil easily wins against the two. The Devil (in human form) takes the Pick of Destiny and transforms it into his tooth, making him a complete devil again, so he can take over the world. Tenacious D try to stop him by having a rock off against him.

The bet is that if the band wins the Devil has to go back to Hell and he has to pay their rent. If the Devil wins, KG goes back to Hell with him, making him his servant. A good performance from JB and KG doesn't overcome the Devil's performance and they lose.

However, the Devil's horn breaks off, and so he is not complete again, thus sending him back to Hell.
