It is the Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show in Philadelphia. The sponsor shown in the opening dog show credit is Eukanuba. Actor Fred Willard is the character Buck Laughlin. He plays an announcer at the dog show who does not seem to know a thing about dog shows, or anything in general. During an interview, he asks, "Mayflower, combined with Philadelphia - a no-brainer, right? Cause this is where the Mayflower landed." Buck continues to show his ignorance by incorrectly identifying the Mayflower as one of the Columbus ships.

Meg and Hamilton Swan are the uptight couple in the movie. The scene where Meg Swan goes to the pet store to get another bumble bee toy for their Weimaraner is phenomenal. Her controlled anger is superb. The clerk also does a great job with his part. "The dog will respond to the stripes and it is reminiscent of a bumble bee".

Answer: Bloodhound

The Bloodhound's name is Hubert and he is Harlan's best friend. Christopher Guest had to train with a dog handler to learn how to show the dog in the ring.

Leslie Ward Cabot is 50 years older than his wife, Sherri. Sherri lists these items in common to show what a great relationship they have. Leslie and Sherri own the Standard Poodle "Rhapsody in White". Sherri is actually having an affair with Rhapsody's handler, Christy Cummings. Leslie Ward Cabot does not speak any lines in the movie. Christopher Guest eliminated his lines when he thought the character was funnier by not saying anything.

Gerry and Cookie sing this song at the going away party that their neighbors give them, as the are getting ready to depart for the dog show in Philadelphia. Gerry and Cookie are the owners of the spunky little Norwich Terrier, Winky.

At the going away party at the neighbors' house, before they leave for Philadelphia, Gerry and Cookie explain about all the sights they will see. "We're really excited to go to Philly. All the neighbors at the party seem the most excited about the fact that they are going to see where they make the cream cheese.

Beatrice, is owned by two lawyers, Meg and Hamilton Swan. They are both obsessed with ordering from upscale catalogs and having coffee at Starbucks. The Swan's are always worried that Beatrice is going to freak out, but it is Hamilton and Meg who are always freaking out. They think the busy bee toy is the only thing that will calm Beatrice down.

Answer: two left feet

He is actually wearing a left shoe on his right foot and it makes him look very comical. During the dog show, the announcer notices it and points out that he has two left feet.
As an aside: Christopher Guest played a six-fingered man in the movie "The Princess Bride".
