Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Well she's walking, through the clouds" - which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: Little Wing

Very good song, with complex underrated guitar intro. Hendrix, the greatest musician of all time, at the peak of his greatness, only a year after the legendary Woodstock 1969, tragically died - apparently after choking on his own vomit after a drinking session in late 1970.
2. "He used to sing for his supper, babe" - which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: Remember

From the album 'Are You Experienced?'.
3. This is a lyric from the Hendrix song 'Stone Free' - "But they don't realise, they're so easy to leak"

Answer: False

The actual lyric was "easy to break". From the song "Stone Free", one of many 60's songs which speaks of freedom. In many of Jimi's songs the lyrics seem as though he has recently been proposed to and wrote a song to explain why he declined. Other songs of this nature include "Freedom" and "51st anniversary".
4. "Tyre tracks all across your back, I can see you had your fun" - which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: Crosstown Traffic

Funny song when the lyrics are listened to. This was also on the advertisement for Channel 4's 2005 "Greatest Artists of the last 50 Years", however Jimi Hendrix was beaten by The Beatles for the '60's slot.
5. "'cause if my baby don't love me no more, I know her....sister will" - which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: Red House

An unexpected comical twist to the story told in the song. Marginally funnier than another of the lyrics in this song - "Looks like my baby don't live here no more...that's alright, I've still got my guitar".
6. "You got my pride, hanging out of my bed" - which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: Freedom

The next line is "You messing with my life, so I bought my lead" - genius
7. "Maybe tomorrow, I just can't tell you" - which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: I Don't Live Today

This is also from the groundbreaking album "Are You Experienced?"
8. "There was a young girl, whose heart was a frown, 'cos she was crippled for life and she couldn't speak a sound" - Which Hendrix song is this from?

Answer: Castles Made of Sand

Great lyrics. One of the tracks from "Axis: Bold as Love", which also includes "Bold As Love" and "If 6 was 9". "Castles Made of Sand" tells the story of three parties - a man crying to his separated wife; a young Indian boy who dreamed of joining the war party and, upon his first war he is killed ("surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night"); and a young crippled girl who wants to committ suicide by the sea, until she sees a "sight she'd never seen", which made her "jump and say: look a golden winged ship is passing my way". An interesting bunch of tales.
9. "If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll..er..meet you on the next one" which song is this from?

Answer: Voodoo Child (slight return)

Jimi Hendrix's only number 1, which hit the top spot only after his death in 1970.
10. The song 'Are You Experienced?' includes the lyric - "Trombones and violins appear in the distance"

Answer: False

It's "Trumpets and violins".
