Answer: Voice of Truth

Mark Hall was inspired to write "Voice of Truth" from his battles with dyslexia and learning issues. The song was co-written by Steven Curtis Chapman, another Christian artist. The song was meant to encourage people to listen to God rather than their fears. Mark Hall wanted to encourage people that even though they may have imperfections and limitations God can still change their lives and use them for His kingdom.
2. Casting Crowns was inspired to write this song from one of their fans that battled cancer. What is the name of the song that has this chorus: "And I'll praise You in this storm and I will lift my hands For You are who You are no matter where I am And every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand You never left my side and though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm"?

Answer: Praise You In This Storm

Castings Crowns was inspired to write "Praise You In This Storm" by one of their fans, Erin Browning. Erin had composed a dance and performed it at her public school to one of the bands other songs before a concert. When Casting Crowns finally met Erin, it was around the same time she and her family found out she had cancer. Mark Hall, the lead vocalist of the band started writing this song while she was fighting cancer but Erin died before the song was completed. Hall later remarked that watching Erin and her family fight a real storm showed him what true worship really was and how he practiced it in his own life.
3. Mark Hall was inspired to write this song by his own experience trying to help a young girl as a youth pastor. Which of these songs has these lyrics: "She is yearning for shelter and affection That she never found at home She is searching for a hero to ride in To ride in and save the day And in walks her prince charming And he knows just what to say Momentary lapse of reason And she gives herself away"?

Answer: Does Anybody Hear Her

"Does Anybody Hear Her?" is about a woman who keeps finding love in all the wrong places and no one realizes that she is going down the wrong path. It was inspired by one of the girls that was in Mark Hall's youth group. During writing this song Mark Hall discovered that it described fifteen to twenty of the girls that were in the youth group that had an absent father and tried to seek love in other ways. Mark realized that some people are written off by churches as "lost causes" when they are the people that need the church the most.
4. This song was written during a time of publicized failures of people that had once been strong Christian leaders. Which of these songs that starts out with the following lyrics? "Be careful little eyes what you see It's the second glance that ties your hands As darkness pulls the strings"?

Answer: Slow Fade

"Slow Fade" was written after several publicized church leaders turned away from their faith. Mark Hall said of this song, "Nobody falls, it's just a slow fade. It's a series of minor compromises until you're in a place you never thought you'd be, doing things you never thought you'd do and rationalizing all of it."
5. Many of Casting Crown's songs are stories based on real life experiences. This song was a modern view inspired by the Biblical parable of the man building his house on the sand. Answer: American Dream

The song "American Dream" is about a man named Jack who neglects his family while working to make a better life. As the song progresses, Jack's life falls apart because he does not pay attention to the things that are the most important. Jack struggles with his family, finances, and never seems to have enough to show for his work. Like the man in the Bible who built his house on the sand, Jack seems to have everything but it all falls apart.
6. This song was inspired by Alex Kendrick, who was making a movie at the time he met Mark Hall and the Casting Crowns. Which Casting Crowns song has the lyrics: "We were warriors on the front lines standing unafraid But now we're watchers on the side lines while our families slip away Where are you men of courage You were made for so much more Let the pounding of our hearts cry We will serve the Lord"?

Answer: Courageous

Alex Kendrick is the producer responsible for making the movies, "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof". He was in the process of making another movie "Courageous", which focused on the value of fatherhood and how fathers impact the lives of their children.

He met Mark Hall at a National Day of Prayer event and the two started talking about how they wanted to see men rise up to leadership in families. Alex told Mark he was looking for a song to go with his movie and Mark wrote the lyrics to "Courageous".

The song became apart of the movie "Courageous" that Alex produced.
7. This song was another one that Mark Hall wrote from his experience pastoring youth and teenagers. Which of these songs has the lyrics: "Cry, like so many times before But my eyes are dry before I leave the floor, oh Lord I try but this time, Jesus, how can I be sure I will not lose my follow through Between the altar and the door"?

Answer: The Altar and the Door

One of Mark Hall's students in his youth group asked him to check out social media websites, particularly My Space. Mark said that he was not surprised at what he saw, but he was concerned that many of his young people advertised a different life on these websites than what they lived at church. Mark realized it was easy to live for God at the altar, but as Christians we struggle when we have to practice our faith outside of church. Mark said, "Somewhere between the altar and the door, it all leaks out and I'm out here wondering what to do, rationalizing things instead of living the life that's in me. So the struggle that we have as believers is trying to get those truths that are in our heads and highlighted in our Bibles out to our hands and feet."
8. Casting Crowns wrote this song to encourage Christians to promote what they believe in rather than what they are against. Which song has the lyrics: "Make the righteous turn away and the stones fall from their hands Help us to remember we are all the least of thieves Let the memory of Your mercy bring your people to their knees"?

Answer: Jesus, Friend of Sinners

"Jesus, Friend of Sinners" was written to encourage Christians in what they believe. Casting Crowns felt like the world knows more about what Christians oppose than what they stand for. Mark Hall felt like Christians promote their values toward things they are opposed to but many people do not know the things Christ has done for us or what kind of Saviour Jesus is. Mark Hall has expressed many times that Jesus uses people in spite of imperfections and Christians should be focused on spreading the message of God's love to people everywhere.
9. One of the things Casting Crowns focuses on the most in the songs is Christians witnessing to other people. Which song has the lyrics: "Father, hear my prayer I need the perfect words Words that he will hear And know they're straight from you I don't know what to say I only know it hurts To see my only friend slowly fade away"?

Answer: Here I Go Again

"Here I Go Again" is about a person who wants to witness but always is afraid and makes excuses for why they can't. Casting Crowns wanted to encourage people to put aside their fears and focus on what God wants when people are trying to help others. Like many of their other songs, Casting Crowns has focused on how Christians are not able to reach people because they are focusing on doubts and fears rather than what God is saying.
10. This song focuses on cities that missed Jesus because they didn't realize what they had. Which of these songs has the lyrics: "Oh, little town of Bethlehem Looks like another silent night Above your deep and dreamless sleep A giant star lights up the sky"?

Answer: While You Were Sleeping

"While You Were Sleeping" tells the story of Bethlehem and Jerusalem when Jesus was born and crucified. Bethlehem did not realize that the King of Kings was born and Jerusalem did not realize who they were crucifying. When these cities realized what had happened it was already too late and Jesus was gone.

The song ends with the United States of America and what will happen if the United States is asleep when Jesus comes again.
