Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What word, according to John 1:38 (KJV), is to be interpreted as Master?

Answer: rabbi

Rabbi may also mean teacher. Today the rabbi is the head of a Jewish synagogue.
2. In 2 Kings 19:8 (KJV), who found the king of Assyria warring against Lachish?

Answer: Rabshakeh

Rabshakeh was the chief cupbearer to the king. The cup bearer's job was to taste the food/drinks before the king ate to make sure the food wasn't poisoned. Rebshakeh's name might have meant "chief of the princes".
3. What word did Jesus say in Matthew 5:22 (KJV) will put you in danger of the council?

Answer: raca

He goes on to say "but whosoever shall say thou fool shall be in danger of hell fire." Raca means "empty-headed".
4. What "R" food did Abigail take as she went to intercede with David on behalf of Nabal?

Answer: raisins

This can be found in 1 Samuel 25:18 (KJV). It says she also took 200 loaves, 2 bottles of wine, 5 sheep, 5 measures of parched corn, 100 clusters of raisins and 200 cakes of figs. Abigail was going to help David because her husband Nabal would not.
5. According to 1 Kings 4:13 (KJV), where was the son of Gerber?

Answer: Ramothgilead

This was part of the tribal inheritance of Gad. It was located east of the Jordan River.
6. According to Genesis chapter 8 (KJV) what was the first type of bird that Noah sent out?

Answer: raven

The second bird was a dove. The dove brought back an olive branch letting Noah know the water had receded.
7. In Judges 8:18 (KJV), what did Zebah and Zalmunna say the men they killed in Tabor were guilty of?

Answer: resembling the children of a king

In Judges 8:19 Gideon tells them the men they killed were like brothers. This is why he wanted to kill them.
8. In Psalm 138:6 (KJV), who does it say the Lord respects?

Answer: the lowly

The verse says "the proud he knoweth not". This verse is talking about being humble.
9. In Luke 6:49 (KJV), what happened to the house that was built without a foundation?

Answer: ruined

This is a metaphor for many Christians to explain that one needs to build their lives on Jesus as the foundation. There is a song that reminds me of this that says:
"The foolish man built his house upon the sand.
The foolish man built his house upon the sand.
The rains came down and the floods came up.
The rains came down and the floods came up.
And the house on the sand went SPLAT!"
10. What did 1 Corinthians 9:24 (KJV) say we are to do to win the prize?

Answer: run

Many Christians believe that Paul is referring to sharing the Gospel and doing things to further God's kingdom. He compares this to a race because we don't know how much time we have so we must act quickly.
