Answer: St. Bernadette Soubirous

St. Bernadette was the girl visited in 1858 by Our Lady of Lourdes. When she became a nun she was often misunderstood by her Superior who often complained about her and told her that she would surely go to purgatory.
2. "Death, but not sin."

Answer: St. Dominic Savio

The great saint is definitely an example of teenage holiness. On the day of his First Communion, he chose his motto, "Death, but not sin." He tried every day to be true to his promise. He died when he was only fifteen.
3. "Sanctify yourself and you will sanctify society."

Answer: St. Francis of Assisi

Francis of Assisi was born rich but gave his riches up for Jesus and started a new order, the Friars Minor, now known as the Franciscans. He also helped St. Clare of Assisi start the Poor Ladies, today known as the Poor Clares. He recieved the Stigmata during the last two years of his life.

St. Teresa's father opposed of her vocation so she left home without telling anyone. She began having visions. She considered her original house too lax in its rules so she founded a reformed convent - St. John of Avila. She was also proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1970.

Answer: St. Rose of Lima

This wonderful saint was born in Lima, Peru. She spent her whole life trying to suffer for Jesus. She had the invsible Stigmata and recieved many visions for Jesus. When Rose was dying, she used to pray "Lord, increase my sufferings, and with them increase your love in my heart."

Answer: St. Maximilian Kolbe

This saint was known as a wild child, but received a vision of Mary on his first Communion and converted. After he became a Franciscan, he and six others started the Immaculata Movement. During the Nazi occupation of Poland, Maximilian was sent to Auschwitz.

When one man escaped, ten others were chosen for death by starvation. Maximilian volunteered to take the place of a man who had a family.

Answer: St. Therese of Lisieux

This saint is known as the Little Flower and the greatest saint of modern times. She lived only twenty-four years, and in her book, "The Story of a Soul", she tells us how she became a saint by just doing every little thing for Jesus.

Answer: St. Gerard Majella

St. Gerard Majella became a Redemptorist lay brother. He was falsely accused by a pregnant woman who said that he was the father of her child. He was known to bilocate and read consciences.

St. Clare was a friend of St. Francis of Assisi when she was quite young. When she grew older, she heard of his conversion and longed to join him. She snuck out of her house one night to follow Francis and his other friars. Eventually, she started an order today known as the Poor Clares.

Answer: St. John Vianney

St. John Vianney is known for his extraordinary way of converting sinners. He was such a great priest that millions of people returned to the Catholic faith. The devil once told him that if there were two other men just like him in the world at the same time, the gates of hell could not prevail.
