1. Where was the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II held?

Answer: Windhoek, Namibia

The tournament was played at three different venues in Windhoek between the 24th of November and the 1st of December, 2007.
2. Which of the six teams competing at the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II qualified for the World Cup previously?

Answer: Both Namibia and the United Arab Emirates

The UAE had previously qualified for the World Cup in 1996 and Namibia had done so more recently, in 2003.
3. Which team won the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II?

Answer: United Arab Emirates

The UAE finished the round-robin stages in second spot but powered home in the final, smashing 347/8 in their 50 overs and then restricting Oman to 280.
4. Which batsman scored the most runs at the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II?

Answer: Gerrie Snyman, Namibia

Gerrie Snyman was a cut above in this tournament, scoring 588 runs and top-scoring for Namibia in five of the six matches he played. His best performance came against the United Arab Emirates, when he clocked 196 runs of just 113 balls. He struck the boundary seven times and his innings also included a whopping 17 sixes!
5. Which bowler took the most wickets during the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II?

Answer: Arshad Ali, United Arab Emirates

Arshad Ali took five wickets for the United Arab Emirates, five more than his nearest rival. He also finished second on the runs list, making him a valuable all-rounder for the UAE.
6. Which team failed to win a single game at the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II?

Answer: Argentina

Argentina started the tournament with a narrow loss to eventual runners-up Oman, but then began to lose their way, succumbing in one match against the United Arab Emirates by 304 runs, when they were bowled out for 108 chasing 413 for victory. Argentina were relegated to Division 3 after finishing in sixth spot, where they would have one final chance to press for World Cup qualification.
7. Which team compiled the lowest innings total in a single match during 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II?

Answer: Denmark

Things were looking grim in the tournament for Denmark after they were bowled out for just 77 in their opening game against Namibia. Only two batsmen made double figures and No. 9 David Borchersen top-scored with 13. The Danes recovered in later matches and managed to beat Uganda and Argentina to finish fourth, which was good enough to get them through to the next round of qualifying.
8. Which team at the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II had all but four of its runs scored by foreign-born players?

Answer: Oman

With the exception of captain Ameet Sampat, who scored four runs during the tournament (out of 1548 for the team), all of the players who started for Oman were born in either Pakistan or India. The United Arab Emirates used five locally- born players, whereas the other teams (Argentina, Denmark, Namibia and Uganda) consisted predominantly of home-grown players.
9. What was unusual about Uganda's performance at the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II?

Answer: They failed to finish in the top four despite having a positive net run rate

Uganda could probably consider themselves unlucky not to have done better in the tournament. Although they were beaten comfortably by the UAE, their three other defeats were quite close, including a bewildering collapse in the last pool game against hosts Namibia, when they all out for 118 chasing 145.

They finished with net run rate of 0.140, which was far superior to that of Denmark (-1.113), who finished above them. They walloped Argentina by 181 runs in the play off for fifth spot to restore some pride after an otherwise disappointing week.
10. How many of the six teams in the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division II progressed to the next stage of qualifying for the 2011 World Cup?

Answer: 4

The UAE, Oman, Namibia and Denmark progressed to the 2009 World Cup qualifier, where they would face Kenya, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, the Netherlands and Bermuda. The ten full ICC members were granted automatic entry to the 2011 World Cup, leaving six spots for the qualifiers. Uganda and Argentina, who finished fifth and sixth respectively, were relegated to Division 3, where they would have one more chance to qualify.
