Ernie Hawrwell was a long time Tigers broadcaster and in my opinion he was the best!
2. What three consecutive years did the Tigers drop the World Series?

Answer: 1907-08-09

They are the only American Leaugue team to have ever dropped 3 World Series in a row. Go figure! But we still love them! :)
3. Who became the first black player on the Detroit Tigers?

Answer: Ozzie Virgil

This happened 11 years after Jackie Robinson first entered the leaugue. Virgil was born in the Dominican Republic.
4. When did Ty Cobb make his first appearance at The Corner?

Answer: Aug. 30, 1905

When reporting his arrival in Detroit, one newspaper called him 'Cyrus' Cobb.
