McLain went 31-6 in 1968 for the Tigers which over-shadowed the accompishments of fellow pitcher Mickey Lolich. McLain went 22-9 the following season and then fell apart with a record of 3-5, and then 10-22 the following seasons.

Answer: Dodgers

Walter Emmons 'Smokey' Alston started his career managing with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954 and finished with the Dodgers of Los Angeles in 1976 after retiring due to an illness. His manager stats were 2040 wins against 1613 losses. He died in 1984.
3. What pitcher set a record for allowing 50 home runs in a season in 1986?

Answer: Bert Blyleven

Blyleven dished up 50 home runs in 1986 breaking the record of Robin Roberts who gave up 46 in 1956. Blyleven also gave up 46 more in 1987.
4. With which team did Roger Clemens begin his Major League career?

Answer: Boston Red Sox

Clemens was signed by Boston where he went 9-4 as a rookie. In 1986 he went 24-4 to begin his control over batters in the Majors. He played with the Blue Jays of Toronto in 1997 and 1998 before being traded to the Yankees.
5. What position did Orel Hershiser play throughout his Major League career?

Answer: pitcher

The 'bulldog' as he was called was a pitcher to be reckoned with starting his career in 1983 with the Dodgers. After being traded to different teams, he retired back as a Dodger in 2000 with a record of 204-150.
