1.10 - "The Balance" Trivia Quiz

Liz was excited that she and Max had finally kissed and was excited to see him when he and Michael came into the Crash Down. Maria, on the other hand, was depressed because Michael had told her that they could not be together anymore.

Maria and Liz had been trying to get in touch with Alex since Liz's confession about Max, Michael, and Isabel. Alex was having a hard time believing that they were aliens.

After Michael found Max's sketches of the drawings in the cave, Max finally told them the truth about what River Dog had told them about the 4th alien years ago. Michael went to the reservation and demanded that Eddie take him to see River Dog. Michael was invited into the 'sweat', a type of spiritual cleansing, but had to leave because he was not feeling well.

While Max and Liz were dancing, Maria rushed in and told them that Michael was sick at the Crash Down. They rushed to see him, but he insisted that he was okay and they took him home.

When Max leaned over Michael, he saw that Michael's eyes had turned white. Max insisted that Michael had severe migraines and took Michael home himself.

While waiting for River Dog to return to the reservation, Max told Liz about the first time he met Michael. "I remember the first time I saw Michael. It was in the desert, the night we first came out of the pods. The sky was bright with stars and this full moon. Isabel and I found each other first. We didn't know how to speak, but we could communicate anyway. We walked for a while, but we could both feel someone else. [Michael] said that he saw us, but that he was afraid. So he just watched us for a long time.

When he finally revealed himself, he was standing on this rock. Just like you'd expect from Michael. 'Here I am. Deal with me.' He said it was the hardest thing he's ever had to do, to trust us."

River Dog explained that 'Nasedo' means 'visitor' in his language, so that was what he called the man. The elders had tested the visitor by inviting him into the 'sweat' and his reaction was immediate. River Dog followed the man into the cave and helped to heal him with the stones.

River Dog explained that there was a risk for those participating in the healing process. "The balance can pull you in. It's a force that can change both your body and your mind unless you navigate it properly." Liz was so overcome with her fears for Max that she had to leave the circle to prevent a disruption with the energy flow of healing.

After he was healed, Michael placed the stones into the cave drawings. When they were put into place, they glowed and formed a map.

Max visited Liz later after Michael had been healed. He told her "we don't belong together." He explained that he needed to take a step back to regain his balance. She kissed him one more time before he left.
