Unnoticed by the intoxicated Kyle, Max used his alien powers to draw a big red heart on the wall of Liz's balcony with their initials inside. Max and Kyle eventually entered Liz's bedroom, where they were caught by Liz and her date, who were trying to escape the radio crew who had located them at the Crash Down.

The radio crew entered Liz's bedroom as Kyle was attempting to distract Liz's date, Doug, while Liz and Max talked out on the balcony. Kyle and Doug ended up wrestling on the bed, while Liz and Max escaped down the fire escape.

Despondent because nothing happened after they sent the message, Michael said, "no one ever comes for me." After waiting for a while, Michael and Isabel cleaned up the lawn where they had sent the message and left. At the end of the episode, a dark figure arrived at the library, made Michael and Isabel's signal fire reappear, burned a picture of Max, Michael, and Isabel, and walked away. (Michael and Isabel had already left the library and headed home before this dark figure appeared.)
