2.5 "Captive" Trivia Quiz

He was cutting, chopping, stirring, and searing a steak for his new guest. All the while, Patsy Cline's "I Fall to Pieces" was playing over the scene. Connor had been a chef on the boat they were on, and said that the steak he'd cooked for her was an Omaha Steak. She never got to finish it, though, because Vida took it from her after Connor left the galley. Omaha Steaks is a company that sells high grade beef, which can be ordered online (when not in the midst of an apocalypse). Mark Kelly played Connor.

"Talking Dead"- tonight's guests were Jess McCartney (Reed), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), and Daniel Zovatto (Jack/Kip). Alycia told Chris Hardwick that the skiing scene playing on the TV was accurate for a fishing vessel. People out at sea for long periods would watch land based nature programs to maintain their mental acuity.

Reed taunted Chris about his dad, who was a captive of Connor. And, then talked about how awful his own father was and how Connor had cut the man's Achilles tendon. He went on to make future threats toward Ofelia, on what he'd do once he'd been freed by Connor. Daniel's quote was a sobering response to Reed's braggadocios.

"TD"- Jess McCartney said he thought of his character (Reed) as an apocalyptic pirate.

Answer: Alex

Alex was the only one of these people to see Travis while he was locked in the cage. She told Travis how she'd been forced to kill Jake in order to spare his suffering, and then how she had to push out of their raft. She also confirmed that she'd been the one to tell Connor all about the Abigail. That cemented Yvette Nicole Brown's theory. Alex said it'd been her idea that Connor bring Travis along after they raided the yacht.

When she realized that the Abigail was coming back too soon, she knew her family had not been dropped off down the coast as promised. She became enraged knowing that Jack had lied to her about her family's fate. She hit him in the face with the clipboard, and a struggled ensued. Afterward, Jack agreed to go with Alicia to find her family.

"TD"- it was shown that two real tuna boats were used to film the episode. One was dry docked, which was seen in full during the episode. The other one was at sea, where they shot interior scenes. They also joked about Alycia with a "y" playing Alicia with an "i", and she admitted that people referred to her as "Alycia with a y" on set.

Alex said this to Travis as their encounter came to a close. He'd shared with her that he'd had to do to Liza what she'd done to Jake. He said it cost a part of himself to do it, and he wanted to know how they could get that piece of themselves back. She said "you don't".

"TD"- Alycia said they'd shot a scene with Alicia and Alex that had been cut from the episode. It had been one where Alex wanted to help Alicia and Travis escape Connor, as she felt responsible for them being there. It had been decided the scene was not needed, and I agree with that.

Answer: Chris

Daniel had allowed Chris to stand watch over Reed, outside the door, but warned him not to "engage". Reed baited Chris into a conversation, where he tried to manipulate Chris into having doubts about his own family. Chris shot Reed off screen, and said it was because he was "gonna turn". Reed was in very bad shape, but the shooting ruined Maddie's straightforward chance of trading Reed for Travis and Alicia.

"TD"- in an on set interview with Lorenzo James Henrie, he said that Chris shot Reed for some unseen reason. He said an off screen conversation had made Chris snap and shoot Reed, which made sense with what we actually had seen Reed say to Chris.

Answer: Nick and Ofelia

Ofelia told Nick she was "getting used to this". They spilled blood, cleaned it up, and then spilled it again. Not long after that, Reed awoke in a walker kind of way. Chris told Maddie, just prior to this scene, that he'd shot Reed with Reed's own gun. Ah, sunshine and roses level irony.

"TD"- Mercedes Mason (Ofelia) couldn't help herself from tasting the fake blood used during the episode. She said she immediately regretted her decision and it was "bitter, disgusting, and sticky".

A moving Reed was better than nothing at all, and Daniel immediately recognized the potential to use the newly infected pirate. So, before Nick could stab walker Reed in the head, Daniel shoved Reed against the wall and pushed the crowbar in deeper. This held the infected villain against the wall until a decision could be made.

"TD"- in a fan poll, 93% of fans agreed that after this episode they believed Alicia was prepared to survive the apocalypse. On the previous "TD", about 90% of fans polled thought Alicia was responsible for the attack by Connor's group, but Alex's revelation vindicated Alicia and, I believe, resurrected her faith in herself.

Maddie made the arrangement with Connor over the radio, and said she'd be the one to escort his brother to the dock. Nick wanted to do it, but she told him she wouldn't allow it because "you want to". Earlier she told Strand Nick had that "look" in his eyes again.

It was the hungry look he'd had as a drug addict. It did appear as though Nick had found his new drug, the adrenaline rush of facing infected people, which he more or less confirmed with his "I don't really mind it out there" comment. Connor's reunion with Reed was "biting" to say the least.

Answer: She slid down off of the boat.

Jack seemed stunned she'd be willing to leave him. After Reed's reunion with Connor, Jack may have actually been the new leader of their now tiny gang of pirates. Vida ended up in the cage that had once held Travis, after Alicia locked her inside. A hippogriff is one of the mystical creatures in the "Harry Potter" franchise.

"TD"- a taped piece was shown on how Alycia's stunt double Whitney made the slide off the boat and down into several layers of cardboard boxes. Also, Alycia revealed to Chris Hardwick that actress Kim Dickens, who plays Madison, had more information on Maddie's backstory than the rest of the cast. That allowed her to play more of Maddie than just the written words. Chris had speculated often that Maddie must be related to one of our "TWD" characters, and she'd had a rough past. I agree, and while Chris thinks it's Shane she's related to, I think it's Hershel Greene.
