Darlene was on the phone and wanted to finish her call before tackling laundry. Dan became irritated by her lack of concern for the towels and told her she worked around their (her parents) schedule. She became amused by this and said it was Becky who worked around their schedule, but fortunately they'd raised her (Darlene) to defy authority.

Dan said his day had been one of success. He'd fixed a kid's bicycle chain for five dollars.

Roseanne told a tale of how they talked incessantly, and one day two women left, only to be replaced by two other women who were nowhere near as good as the ones they replaced. That was when Darlene had to stop her. DJ tried to tell a story too, but he couldn't get anything interesting out of his mouth.

Darlene did not see what the big deal was, and did not want to work downstairs. She tried to go up anyway, but Dan kept saying they couldn't. David was unsure what to do, so Dan asked "David, which of us could hurt you more?" David's answer was, "I'm not sure." Dan eventually relented when Roseanne reminded him David was no Mark.

Jackie came over the next morning, straight from her night of man hunting, and tried all sorts of electrical activities. She tried making toast, using the microwave and using the blender before she realized they had no power to the house. She actually put something in a microwave that had NO numbers lit up on it, no light inside when she tried to turn it on, and made no beeping noises when she touched it.

When Roseanne spoke up, David and Darlene pretended he'd just arrived. Roseanne let him inside again and then told them they were dead. David got away unscathed. Later on, Roseanne went up to Darlene's room and offered to get her birth control pills.
