Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Seventh Doctor carries an umbrella with what shape on the handle?

Answer: Question mark

This Doctor likes questions marks--his pullover sweater vest is also covered in them. The Sixth Doctor likes to wear various cat buttons on his coat.
2. In "Time and the Rani", which companion does the Rani disguise herself as?

Answer: Mel

The Rani has come back after her first appearance in "The Mark of the Rani" to take control of time itself. Her plan involves giving the Doctor amnesia after he regenerates. Kate O'Mara plays the character again in the non-canon special "Dimensions in Time".
3. In "Paradise Towers", what attacks Mel in the pool?

Answer: The Cleaner

Mel once again shows the audience what an excellent screamer she is. However, she doesn't just scream and manages to shoot it. Bonnie Langford plays Mel. Langford is a singer, dancer, and actress, and has also done much charity work.
4. Which comedian has a small role in "Delta and the Bannermen"?

Answer: Ken Dodd

Dodd plays the Tollmaster, who tells the Doctor and Bonnie that they've won a free week-long trip to 1950's Disneyland. Dodd has distinctive buck teeth that he got in a bicycle accident when he was young.
5. The Doctor and Bonnie meet Ace in "Dragonfire". How does Ace say she got to Iceworld?

Answer: A time storm appeared in her room during an experiment.

She was experimenting with her homemade explosive Nitro-9 when she created a time storm and ended up at Iceworld. She's been working as a waitress since she arrived. She isn't very good at it, is fired, and is happy to leave with the Doctor. The time storm that got her to Iceworld is properly explained in "The Curse of Fenric".
6. In "Dragonfire", which character from a previous Doctor's era comes back?

Answer: Sabalom Glitz

Glitz is a major supporting character in the Sixth Doctor stories "The Mysterious Planet" and "The Ultimate Foe", the first and last serials of the "Trial of a Time Lord" story. Glitz is hanging around on Iceworld, but things don't go as he planned. After he loses his ship and his crew are killed, he leaves Iceworld with Mel.
7. Ace beats up Daleks with what implements in "Remembrance of the Daleks"?

Answer: Rocket launcher and baseball bat

Sophie Aldred, who plays Ace, has said that she wants "I beat up a Dalek with a baseball bat" on her tombstone. Earlier in the serial, the Doctor imbues the bat with extra power. As for the rocket launcher, she tells the Doctor after blowing away a Dalek that she aimed for its eye, which is what the Doctor is forever telling others to do when attacking Daleks.
8. What does the Doctor talk a Dalek into doing in "Remembrance of the Daleks"?

Answer: Killing itself

The Doctor has destroyed planet Skaro and convinces the last remaining Dalek on Earth to destroy itself. Of course, it isn't the end of the Daleks or Davros.
9. How long does it take the Doctor to overthrow the government of Terra Alpha?

Answer: One day

The Doctor tells Ace that he can upset Terra Alpha's system of "happiness will prevail" in one day, and that he's been meaning to do it for some time. Indeed, in only a day, he overthrows Helen A's rule and allows the citizens to be unhappy if they want to be.

The Galactic Censor, Trevor Sigma, is played by John Normington, who also played one of the villains (Morgus) in "The Caves of Androzani", the Fifth Doctor's last serial.
10. Helen A finally shows sadness when what happens?

Answer: Her pet dies.

After trying to ban unhappiness and putting up a happy front for so long, she finally breaks down crying when her precious Fifi, the pet she used to kill others, dies. The serial ends at this point. While her husband deserts her, this event doesn't cause her sorrow.
