Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did Margene ask both Ben and Sarah at breakfast?

Answer: if they want to go to the mall with her

Margene was very lonely and rather desperate for more adult companionship. While Bill was still asleep that morning, she was talking to him about going to see a movie. Sarah told Margene she had to work, and Ben said he had baseball practice.
2. What point about Home Plus did the advertising company want to play up?

Answer: they're homegrown

The advertising company wanted to make Home Plus 'the face of Utah' by promoting the fact that they're 'homegrown'. Commercials featuring testimonials by employees, which included subliminal messages, were planned. The ad agency budgeted the campaign at over $250,000. Bill wanted to go ahead with it, but Don and Peg recommended waiting until they were away from Roman since it was such a large amount.
3. Who visited Nicki?

Answer: missionaries

Margene ran into Pam when she was taking the boys to the park. When Pam noticed that missionaries were talking to Nicki, she told Margene their names. Nicki later told Barb that Pam sent them to talk to her.
4. Where did Margene go with Pam and Carl?

Answer: to church

Pam said that she and Carl were going to church for a concert recital, and they wanted to invite Margene and the boys. Margene went with them without telling anyone.
5. When Joey called Bill to tell him he had signed a paper for Roman, what did Joey say he thought he had signed?

Answer: a permit for his fish farm

Joey told Bill he hadn't read the paper close when he had signed it, but it said Joey was the designated agent for Deseret Properties. This meant that the leverage Bill had over Roman with the real estate deals was gone since Bill wasn't going to do something to get his brother in trouble.
6. At dinner, how did Nicki respond to Heather's query about what it's like to have Roman Grant for a father?

Answer: "It's an honor."

Bill and Barb were a bit put out with Sarah for bringing Heather home, but Bill just told her to ask first next time. Heather silenced the table when she asked the question of Nicki (Bill looked like he had trouble swallowing his piece of cake), and then looked puzzled by Nicki's reply.

Heather later stunned Bill and Barb again when she mentioned that she had strong opinions on polygamy and would like to discuss them sometime.
7. Who told Barb that Nicki had a credit card?

Answer: Peg

Peg checked out Nicki's credit card which had been confiscated at Home Plus, and found out that it was at the limit and a large payment had been made recently. Barb later did some calling, and snooping, and found Nicki's box of statements. When confronted, Nicki eventually told Barb the truth about owing $58,000.
8. The ad agency woman winked at Bill.

Answer: False

At the earlier meeting with the ad agency, Bill and Don had both seemed visibly intimidated by the woman. After she had finished her presentation, Don said "She's a firecracker" under his breath to Bill. Later, while they were looking at the testimonial that had been filmed, the woman's enthusiasm was apparent.

After Bill agreed that the spot was super, the woman looked at Don, and winked. Bill looked from a smiling Don back to the woman, and smiled uncomfortably.
9. Whose call alerted Bill that his family had been evicted from the compound?

Answer: Lois

Lois had had a bulldozer outside of her gas station all day, and Rhonda told her that there was also one sitting outside of Lois' house. While Bill and Barb were getting ready to leave the hotel, Bill checked his messages and heard one from his mother arguing with the men driving the bulldozers. He then went to see his family at the motel where they were staying.
10. Did Bill press charges when Alby broke in to the Home Plus store?

Answer: No

Alby was sent on a job by his father, Roman, which we come to find out was breaking in to Bill's office at Home Plus. The security guard put Alby on the phone with Bill, and Alby told Bill that if certain connections were made known it wouldn't be good. Bill told the security guard to let Alby go, and not to call the police.
