1. Miss Canfield/Clarence Rutherford

Answer: "Leave it to Beaver"

"Leave it to Beaver" was created by Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher. It ran for six seasons from 1957-1963. The show was nominated on a couple occasions for Emmy Awards, but failed to win any. It has not been ranked on "TV Guide's" list of the 100 greatest shows. Diane Brewster portrayed Miss Canfield (her first name was never revealed).

She was Beaver's grammar school teacher on the first four seasons of the show. Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford was played by Frank Bank. The character was initially a bully to the Cleaver boys, but later became one of Wally Cleaver's best friends.
2. Christine Chapel/Pavel Chekov

Answer: "Star Trek"

"Star Trek" was created by Gene Roddenberry. It spawned a whole franchise of spin-off series and films. The original series ran for only three seasons from 1966-1969. It was nominated but failed to win any Emmy Awards. It has been ranked number 36 on "TV Guide's" list of the greatest shows. Christine Chapel, commonly known as Nurse Chapel, was played by Majel Barrett (who later married series creator Gene Roddenberry). Walter Koenig portrayed Pavel Chekov.

He was an ensign navigator of the U.S.S. Enterprise.
3. Gloria Stivic/Lionel Jefferson

Answer: "All in the Family"

"All in the Family" was based on a British sitcom called "Till Death Do Us Part". It was developed for American television by Norman Lear. It ran for nine seasons from 1971-1980. The show won 22 Emmy Awards, and has been ranked number four on "TV Guide's" list of greatest shows.

It also spawned a few spin-off series. Gloria Stivic was portrayed by Sally Struthers. Her character was the daughter of Edith and Archie Bunker, and wife to Michael "Meathead" Stivic. Mike Evans played the role of Lionel Jefferson.

He was son to neighbors Louise and George Jefferson.
4. Margaret Houlihan/John McIntyre

Answer: "M*A*S*H"

"M*A*S*H" was a spin-off from the 1970 film of the same name. Both were based on Richard Hooker's book with the same title. Larry Gelbart developed and adapted the novel and movie for the television series. The show ran for 11 seasons from 1972-1983. The series finale was the most watched episode of all-time.

The series won 14 Emmy Awards, and has been ranked number 25 on "TV Guide's" list of the greatest shows. Loretta Swit played the role of Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan. She was a major in the U.S Army, and head nurse of the 4077th M.A.S.H unit. "Trapper" John McIntyre was portrayed by Wayne Rogers on the first three seasons of the show.

He was a captain and surgeon in the same M.A.S.H unit.
5. Hattie Denton/Micah Torrance

Answer: "The Rifleman"

"The Rifleman" was created by Arnold Laven and developed by Sam Peckinpah for television. It ran for five seasons from 1958-1963. The show garned no Emmy Awards, and has not been ranked on "TV Guide's" list of the 100 greatest shows. Hattie Denton was portrayed by Hope Summers.

She was the general store owner in the town of North Fork, New Mexico. Paul Fix played the role of Micah Torrance. His character was a recovering alcoholic who was marshal of the town of North Fork. He was also lead character Lucas McCain's best friend.
6. Arya Stark/Tyrion Lannister

Answer: "Game of Thrones"

"Game of Thrones" was developed for the television by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. It was adapted from a series of fantasy novels written by George R. R. Martin. It ran for eight seasons from 2011-2019. The show won 59 Emmy Awards. It has been ranked number 12 on "TV Guide's" list of the greatest shows. Arya Stark was portrayed by Maisie Williams.

Her character was the sword wielding and tomboyish youngest daughter of Lord and Lady Stark of Winterfell. Peter Dinklage played the part of Lord Tyrion Lannister. Tyrion was born a dwarf, and the youngest child of the House of Lannister.

He became one of the most popular characters in the series.
7. Llithyia Glaber/Quintas Batiatus

Answer: "Spartacus"

"Spartacus" was inspired by the historical figure of the same name. He was a Thracian gladiator around 70 B.C. The series was developed by Sam Rami and Steven DeKnight. It ran for four seasons from 2010-2014. The show did not win any Emmy Awards, and has not been ranked on "TV Guide's" list of the 100 greatest shows.

The role of Llithyia Glaber was played by Viva Bianca. She was wife of Gaius Glaber, a Roman army legatus, who was the one who enslaved Spartacus. John Hannah portrayed Quintus Batiatus.

He was a lanista (a trainer of gladiators), and the master of Spartacus.
8. Sybil Buchanan/Warren Coolidge

Answer: "The White Shadow"

"The White Shadow" was created by Bruce Paltrow. It ran for three seasons from 1978-1981. The show won no Emmy Awards, but after its cancellation was highly praised by critics. It is said to have paved the way for future multi-cultural ensemble cast series such as "Hill Street Blues".

It has not been ranked on "TV Guide's" list of the 100 greatest shows. Joan Pringle played the role of Sybil Buchanan. She was vice principal, and later principal of Carver High School (A fictional school in South Central Los Angeles). Warren Coolidge was portrayed by Byron Stewart. Coolidge was center of the school's basketball team, and the only player with talent enough to play college ball.

This character had a crossover role in the television series "St. Elsewhere" (also played by Byron Stewart).
9. Jane Hathaway/Milburn Drysdale

Answer: "The Beverly Hillbillies"

"The Beverly Hillbillies" was created by Paul Henning. It ran for nine seasons from 1962-1971. The show was nominated on a few occasions for Emmy Awards, but failed to win any. It has not been ranked on "TV Guide's" list of the 100 greatest shows. However, it does have 16 episodes that were among the 100 most watched episodes in U.S. history. Jane Hathaway was portrayed by Nancy Kulp.

Her character was the secretary of banker Milburn Drysdale. Mr. Drysdale was played by Raymond Bailey. He was the neighbor and personal banker of the Clampett family.
10. Rebecca Howe/Ernie Pantusso

Answer: "Cheers"

"Cheers" was created by Glen and Les Charles, as well as James Burrows. It ran for 11 seasons from 1982-1993. It also spawned a few spin-off series. The show won 28 Emmy Awards, and has been ranked number 18 on "TV Guide's" list of the greatest shows. Kirstie Alley played the part of Rebecca Howe.

She managed the bar after Sam Malone sold it to a corporation. "Coach" Ernie Pantusso was portrayed by Nicholas Colasanto. His character was a former baseball coach of Sam Malone, and a bartender at the bar Cheers.

After three seasons Mr. Colasanto died of a heart attack, and so did his character.
