"CSI: NY" 4.3: "You Only Die Once" Quiz

Flack hits the sports car in the side trying to get it to pull over. When the car repairs itself from the dent, Detective Flack asks, "What kind of car are you?" The car throws out lighter fluid and flames from the back, wrecking the taxi and halting the chase. The suspect gets away.

Later Chief Sinclair reprimands Flack for leading a high speed chase on the news because it was against department policy. He tells Flack the next time he runs up a $60 cab tab, he can pay for it himself.

When Stella asks for a description of the car, Flack says it was the average supercell spy car with the blue flame get away package. He tells Stella the suspect was medium built, light brown hair, with a scar on his left cheek. Stella is surprised. Flack says the guy turned the lights on when he broke in. Stella asks, "What kind of thief sneaks into an apartment in the middle of the night and turns on the lights?"

Meanwhile Flack's girlfriend is super excited that she witnessed a break in and tells her friends over the phone. Stella tells Flack that she would be invited to all kinds of parties.

The chase is not over with one dead body. Flack identifies the man and tells Mac that there was a second partner he couldn't identify. While they were talking, Chief Sinclair shows up to talk to Mac. Mac tells the chief that the murdered suspect had the same MO as the thieves that hit the chief's house.

They discuss that these thieves had been hitting many high profile people and taking up headlines, making the police department look really bad. Chief Sinclair tells Mac to step up the investigation and he would give him whatever resources he needs to catch the guys.

The paralysis in the feet confirmed that the victim had died upright. Although the victim had a massive injury to the head, Dr. Sid does not rule it as the cause of death and tells Mac, "Like my third grade teacher says, 'It is what is on the inside that counts.'" The victim died by affixation, caused by crushing of a massive force. Mac asks the doctor how the victim be crushed to death without leaving any visible bruising or marks.

Lindsay hooks fragments of the car up to an electrical battery to show how the car's memory polymer function to bend itself back into shape from damage. Danny is able to match the tread marks found at both crime scenes, confirming that the same car Flack chased was involved in the body dump on Bond Street. When alarms from all the labs computers went off, Sheldon informs Mac there is a firewall breach coming from the evidence room. Lindsay cuts the power off to all the computer sources, but the evidence table lights up. Upon further inspection, Sheldon discovered the tuxedo jacket on the table is hot. He cuts the inside of the jacket and finds wires and a chip that are downloading all the CSI lab data. The CSI team realizes that the robberies were more than just a jewelry and money heist, they are wireless data robberies as well.

After many trials and errors to identify the blue flame substance, Lindsay succeeds, bringing another clue to the case. The flames were from an alcohol that sponsored many of the elite parties that the victims attended. This gave CSI a link to what all the victims had in common, and the events where the victims were chosen.

However, when the event coordinator is brought in for questioning, he denies any part in the murderers or robberies. He had arranged the parties to spy on the same people for a tabloid magazine company.

Stella found reflective smart water at one of the burglary crime scenes. It had sprayed the burglars before they left through a sprinkler system. The smart water had a blue dye and would reflect light. It would not wash off for several days.

When the burglaries are linked to a set of elite parties, Stella and Flack go to the mayor's party in hopes of finding the suspect. Stella takes pictures with a camera because the reflection would capture any smart water on a guest. She is surprised to discover it on Maude, the event coordinator's assistant. Maude runs, leading the police on another chase. The police cause Maude's car to smash by a pop-up barricade during the chase.

Danny and Lindsay find that the car was tampered with to kill the other robbers. The airbag had been tampered with to kill the first driver, who was later dumped and ran over. The second driver was injured because the airbag had been removed and the brakes were rigged to not respond, in hopes the driver would crash and die if they tried to race the police.

At first they assume the substance was from pepper spray transfer, but traces of cayenne pepper were found in the mechanics of the car. Stella links the cayenne pepper to the killer, a mechanic that she had questioned. He had cayenne pepper on his nails because he was trying to get rid of a nail biting habit.

Flack acknowledges to the third man, that without his help the robberies would not have been possible. Booth Rody worked at a car dealership and arranged for them to steal the car. He had the brains to create the car's spy features and design it to be the perfect getaway vehicle, as well as a sporty car for the parties.

However the other two robbers would not let him in on the action or give him credit. They only used him as their mechanic. When he wanted to be involved in the robberies or the parties they cut him out.

He tampered with the car to kill both of them, but only succeeded in killing one.
