Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Carter is having a pretty rough going in this episode so at one point he drops by a pub where he apparently is a regular. The bartender takes notice of him and says he'll get him an iced coffee and a BLT right away. What does Carter answer?

Answer: "Maybe something else today." (meaning he's getting drunk)

Carter does choose to get drunk. Which is kind of ironic, considering how "short-leashed" he kept Abby while they dated. Later when at the hospital he recognizes his hypocrisy over something like this but Abby tries to comfort him by saying "we're all hypocrites".

But not before making a bit of a scene, by walking into the hospital and telling the vet guy to call his girlfriend (which he did not want to see him in such condition since he was partially disfigured). Obviously Carter takes this "vet guy story" into personal matters, comparing it to his recent loss of Kem and the whole idea of a special love being made apart because of external reasons comes to mind.
2. Abby and Neela help Tesoro escape back to Mexico, rather than having her under the control of the Social Security services which would only make the girl bounce from foster care families during almost a year. So they buy her some tickets, put money in an envelope, and tell her to make a run for it. Whom does she get on the train with?

Answer: Neela

This takes place after the most emotional moment of the episode, when Tesoro reconnects with her folks via telephone. After being helped by Neela and Abby, she's left at the railway station all set up to leave for Tijuana but suddenly she tells Neela that she thinks she can't do it.

While the song used for closing this episode plays, we can see that Neela ended up boarding on train alongside Tesoro, who just sleeps by her shoulder.
3. By the end of this episode, does Sam accept Luka's proposal of moving in with him?

Answer: Yes

In a perfectly set up romantic scene, Sam tells Luka what she couldn't earlier (since they were interrupted by the whole shark incident thing), that she loves him too. Remember how the first questions was about eggs? Quite clever that she then tells him to come over later when her shift ends, that she'll make him some eggs. After that she runs and lips into his arms and they kiss.
4. Does Dr. Jing-Mei Chen make an appearance on this episode?

Answer: No

Still recovering from the accident that involved her, Pratt, and the now-deceased Elgin, it is mentioned that Carter has talked to her and that she told him that she's going to start her physical therapy program. Jing-Mei is portrayed by Ming-Na and first appeared on the show during the first season. The season to which this episode belongs is the one where she makes her last one.
5. Does Dr. Elizabeth Corday appear on this episode?

Answer: Yes

Quite briefly, but indeed does. She comes down to check on the surviving trauma victim from the "homosexual hatred" story and give clearance and notify another surgeon that he'll have to handle the procedure as she has somewhere else to attend. Dr. Elizabeth Corday is played by Alex Kingston and first appeared on the show on the first episode of season 4.

She makes her last appearance on the final episode of the show, during season 15.
6. Is Pratt seen during this episode?

Answer: No

Pratt is also recovering from the accident where he took central role from although it wasn't exactly his fault why things turned out the way they did. Dr. Kovac mentions to Carter that Pratt keeps on calling him (which just seems somehow unlikely? But guess they had to find a way to throw it in) saying that he wants Weaver to put him on schedule, adding that he "doesn't even have his stitches out yet". Dr. Gregory Pratt is portrayed by Mekhi Phifer and débuts in the show towards the end of the 8th season.

He makes his final appearance on the first episode of the 15th and final season.
7. The episode closes, quite fantastically I may add, to the sound of a Norah Jones song. Which one is it?

Answer: The Long Day Is Over

The song starts on the scene where near the hospital entrance Sam and Luka share that romantic moment and plays throughout a few scenes more, showing everyone leaving towards whatever waits for them at the end of a long day. Quite fitting. "The Long Day Is Over" is a song from Jones' debut album "Come Away With Me" and was written by her and Jesse Harris.
8. Does Dr. Kerry Weaver make an appearance during this episode?

Answer: Yes

She is indeed to be spotted a few number of times and even speaks of Henry, whom she just won the custody from against the parents of her now-deceased girlfriend Sandy Lopez. Dr. Kerry Weaver is played by Laura Innes and makes her first appearance on the first episode of season 2. She is last seen on the last episode of 15th and final season.
9. Does Dr. Susan Lewis appear on this episode?

Answer: No

She isn't to be seen in the initial episodes of season 11 since she is on maternity leave. Dr. Susan Lewis is played by Sherry Stringfield and first appeared on the show in the first episode of the first season (but not the pilot one). She makes her final appearance on the last episode of the 15th and final season.
10. What would the show be without the nurses, right? And this is a quite nurse-friendly one in terms of airtime. Which three nurses make a somewhat significant appearance on this episode?

Answer: Malik, Chuny and Haleh

They all get to speak for a considerable amount of time in this episode. Malik probably having the one of least importance, but we do see him verbally discussing with a rude kid patient. Then Chuny plays an important part in this episode, while helping Abby making Tesoro reveal to herself so that she could be properly and finitely helped.

At last we are still somewhat baffled by the power of Haleh over Abby, with her experience and opinion being very respected still, even though Abby has just became a doctor and could just treat the nurse just like any doctor.

But there will always be that bond there for her since she has been one of them.
