Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ed is assigned to oversee the work of Shou Tucker, the Sewing Life Alchemist. Why is he assigned to this task?

Answer: Shou Tucker was executed

Shou Tucker was found guilty by the Brigadeer General to transmutating his daughter, Nina, into a human-speaking Chimera. Since his guilt was so evident, it was said that Brigadier General Basque Gran executed him, but he makes a re-appearance at Laboratory 5 as a transmuted chimera, a result of his own research.
2. Ed asked Flame Alchemist, Roy Mustang, to pursue the serial killer that he believed had killed Nina the night she was transmutated. Mustang rejects this request. How does Ed reply?

Answer: He returns his watch

Ed suspects the serial killer encountered and murdered Nina, the night she was transmutated by her father. He demanded of Roy Mustang that he be assigned to pursue this killer, instead of overseeing Shou Tucker's work. Mustang refused this offer, and Ed claimed that he would find the killer without permission. To do that, he would have to resign as a State Alchemist.

He left his watch with Mustang.
3. Winry, a childhood friend of Edward and Alphonse, comes to visit them as a surprise. Because of her love for mechanics, she is distracted by a refrigerated meat truck. Who does she encounter while examining it?

Answer: The woman who drives the truck

While examining the truck, the woman who drives it sees her looking over it. She offers her a chance to look inside, which Winry can't refuse.
4. What is the real identity of the woman that drives the refrigerated meat truck?

Answer: Barry the Chopper

Barry the Chopper is the serial killer that has been terrorizing the city. Ed discovers that driving the refrigerated meat truck is the perfect disguise; it is the perfect place to hide a body.
5. Ed faces Barry to a blade on blade brawl. Barry seems to have the advantage over Ed. Just as Ed is about to kill Barry, who comes to his rescue?

Answer: Alphonse

Alphonse grabs Ed's arm as he is about to lunge at Barry, to stop him from killing him. Ed was still shaken, but thankful for Alphonse's intervention.
6. After Winry has been retrieved from Barry's truck, and Barry has been put into custody, what does Ed say to Al?

Answer: "We're not gods, we're humans"

While sitting on the stairs next to Al, Ed breaks down in tears. He says, in refrence to Nina, "We're not gods, we're humans. Tiny, insignificant humans, who couldn't even say a little girl." He is still guilt ridden about Nina's death.
7. Who gives Ed and Al critical information to forming a stone?

Answer: Tim Marcoh

After a chance encounter with Tim Marcoh, he gives Ed and Al a clue where to find the information he has recovered regarding the Philosopher's Stone, in the library's First Branch.
8. A character gave Ed a slip of paper telling him where to find the information regarding the Philosopher's Stone. What is the postscript at the bottom of the page?

Answer: The genuine truth behind truths

Tim Marcoh gives Ed and Alphones a slip of paper that tells them where to find his notes on the Philosopher's Stone. The postscript reads "The Genuine Truth Behind Truths." At first, Ed is perplexed by this, and vows to find out its meaning.
9. What is the secret ingredient in forming a Philosopher's Stone?

Answer: Live humans

Ed is aghast to realize that Tim Marcoh's research shows that to form a near-perfect Philosopher's Stone, large numbers of live humans were needed.
10. Where does Ed go to seek further information on where the Philosopher's Stone could be produced?

Answer: Lab 5

Ed searches for a place where it would be possible to create a Philosopher's Stone. He notices the abandoned Lab 5, sees a state prison next to it. He realizes that since the stone is made with humans in large numbers, a prison would be the ideal supply. Thus, he makes his way to Lab 5.
