While Garfield initially acted derisive toward Jon's new video game, it didn't take long for him to become addicted to it. Fortunately, this ended up saving Jon's life. Concerned about Jon's chronic stomach pain, Odie called 911, but no one answered door when the EMTs showed up. As they were about to leave, they heard the sound effects from Garfield's game and burst into the house, finding Jon and immediately diagnosing him with appendicitis. They rushed him to the hospital, where top surgeons removed the inflamed appendix just in time.

When a phony swami "read Jon's mind" via a concealed radio and a partner-in-crime, he also convinced Jon to purchase the jewel that supposedly gave him telepathic powers. To save the day (as was his prerogative), Garfield interfered with the radio signal until the swami relented and gave the money back.

He was a little behind the curve on that one. As such, he was never respected in the scientific community, but he tried multiple times to get back on their good side. In fact, he invented a robotic dog, basing the prototype on Odie. For some reason, he did this twice, apparently not learning from his initial failure.

When Garfield accidentally bought a child from the supermarket (don't ask), Jon called the mother so that she could come by and pick him up. Unfortunately, the baby crawled away, so, to ensure Jon wouldn't notice, Garfield put Odie in a bonnet and diaper and set off to find the missing infant. Though Odie's disguise was seen through very quickly, Garfield found the child in the nick of time and prevented Jon from being arrested.

After watching Garfield eat and sleep all day, the guru decided that he wanted to live his life the way Garfield did. He later advised all of his students to do the same.

As part of a convoluted plot to find Pinfeather's secret hideout, W gave Double Oh Orson a long, complicated series of instructions that 00O promptly forgot, causing him to be "fired". Pinfeather promptly hired him and brought him to his secret lair, no questions asked. What a moron.

Just before the show started, a dog threatened Garfield with bodily harm if he said anything bad about dogs during the episode. Try as he might, Garfield eventually failed in this endeavor (though that was primarily due to Nermal switching his cue cards).

The creature from another world living in Jon's washing machine ate some of Jon's clothes every week until eventually none of Jon's clothes were left. Where the girdle came from was never explained. Presumably the creature coughed it up.

Presumably Jon couldn't throw him out on Thanksgiving either, as it would be caught in the overlap, but Garfield never mentioned it.

Uncle Ed ate all of Jon's food, took over the television, and slept in Jon's bed. One Garfield was enough, so Jon tried to get rid of Ed by any means necessary. Eventually, Garfield realized the only way to get him to leave was by calling his wife, who promptly removed Ed and put him back on a 6000-calorie diet.
