Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode 46: "Our Father" What happens to Hiro's mother after she restores his memories and gives him the catalyst?

Answer: She dies.

In this very heartfelt scene, Hiro is mistaken as a chef and tries to make his mother a meal, which has amusing results since Hiro is clueless in the kitchen. After preparing her a simpler meal, he admits his true identity to her and she restores his memories using her ability. This exchange between mother and son is very memorable.

After regaining his memories, Hiro then asks her to give him the catalyst. She eventually agrees but this causes her to die.
2. Episode 47: "Dual" Noah Bennet releases three dangerous criminals from Level 5, using them as bait to lure Sylar. Which of these did Noah NOT release?

Answer: Meredith Gordon

Noah enters Primatech with Meredith Gordon, Claire's biological mother. She is not one of the prisoners being released in this scene.
3. Episode 48: "A Clear and Present Danger" Peter Petrelli inadvertently gains someone's power at the end of this episode, causing the airplane they are on to go down. Whose power is this?

Answer: Tracy Strauss

Peter acquires Tracy's power, which is the ability to freeze objects. Tracy's ability later manifests itself in ways that allow her own body to change shapes.
4. Episode 49: "Trust and Blood" Daphne Millbrook is killed in the plane crash that occurred at the end of the previous episode, "A Clear and Present Danger".

Answer: False

The passengers make it out alive, but many are shot or wounded in the aftermath of the crash.
5. Episode 50: "Building 26" Several characters receive mysterious messages from an unknown source, warning them about events to come or telling them what they need to do. What does this person call themselves?

Answer: Rebel

Rebel had been primarily contacting Claire Bennet. However, at the start of this episode, Rebel sends a fax to Hiro and Ando that tells them to save Matt Parkman.
6. Episode 51: "Cold Wars" In order to learn more about Danko and "Building 26", Matt Parkman spends this episode using his ability to delve into someone's mind. Whose mind is he reading?

Answer: Noah Bennet

Matt learns many things during his interrogation of Noah Bennet. At episode's end, Matt is about to kill Noah, until he is convinced to look into his mind one more time and find out that Daphne is still alive.
7. Episode 52: "Exposed" In a flashback to his childhood, Gabriel Gray sees his father murdering his mother outside of a motel, using a knife that is branded "SYLAR". His father then drives away, leaving his son stranded at the motel. Gabriel then picks up the knife and the camera pans to his face, which appears expressionless. Does this scene occur like so?

Answer: No

Most of the above scene is incorrect. The place they are outside of in the flashback is a diner, not a motel. Gabriel walks out of the diner to see his father murdering his mother, but not with a knife. It is instead using a telekinetic forehead slice, not unlike Sylar.
8. Episode 53: "Shades of Gray" Who was drugged, strapped with a bomb, and left in downtown Washington D.C. to appear as a terrorist?

Answer: Matt Parkman

Nathan Petrelli has Parkman use his ability to read the minds of the police officers and bomb squad around him, to find a way of disarming the bomb before it is detonated.
9. Episode 54: "Cold Snap" In this episode, Hiro regains the ability to stop time, but he is still unable to teleport.

Answer: True

His ability is restored by Matt Parkman, Jr.

While still a baby and unable to understand his power, it seems he can activate and deactivate things such as the television, electronic toys, and apparently superhuman abilities.
10. Episode 55: "Into Asylum" James Martin is an evolved human that is the focus of part of this episode, including a manhunt by Danko. What is James Martin's ability?

Answer: Shape shifting

Martin proves to be a hard man to catch since he can alter his appearance to look like anyone he has touched.
11. Episode 56: "Turn and Face the Strange" Angela convinces several people to go to a place in Arizona where she will explain things in more detail. What is this place called?

Answer: Coyote Sands

At the end of this episode, Angela and many others unearth several human skeletal remains that are buried at Coyote Sands. The next episode reveals it as a research facility for those with abilities, and was used for study and experimentation in the 1960s.
12. Episode 57: "1961" One of the people working at the 1960s Arizona facility is the father of a main character. To whom am I referring?

Answer: Chandra Suresh

Mohinder's father Chandra Suresh was portrayed by Erick Avari in most of his appearances, but in this flashback episode he is portrayed by Ravi Kapoor.
13. Episode 58: "I Am Sylar" Near the end of this episode, what happens when Hiro tries to manipulate time?

Answer: He has a headache and experiences nosebleeds.

From what is known by the end of season three, Hiro's use of his ability is weakening him to the point where he loses consciousness.
14. Episode 59: "An Invisible Thread" Sylar's memories are forced out by Matt Parkman, who uses his ability to turn Sylar into someone else. Who is this?

Answer: Nathan Petrelli

Season 4 explores the consequences of this, causing complications for "Nathan", Sylar, and Matt.
15. Episode 60: "Orientation" Which of these events did NOT take place in the season four premiere?

Answer: Peter begins to work for Noah as a paramedic for those with abilities.

Peter goes back to his paramedic career, but he is not working for Noah and the people he is saving are not necessarily evolved humans.

"Orientation" was a two-hour double episode that originally aired in September of 2009. The second part is entitled "Jump, Push, Fall" but this was not shown on screen. The producers intend for this title to be shown in future airings, when the episodes are split in two.
