Answer: Soap

Both are set in Connecticut (Hartford and Dunn's River).

"Judging Amy" (1999-2005) starred Amy Brenneman as a corporate lawyer who moves back to Hartford, Connecticut to serve as a family court judge.

"Soap" (1977-1981) was a wacky parody of daytime soap operas, set in the fictional town of Dunn's River, Connecticut.
2. Dukes of Hazzard

Answer: Necessary Roughness

Both are set in Georgia (Hazzard County and Atlanta).

"Dukes of Hazzard" (1979-1985) was set in Hazzard County where them "good old boys", Luke and Bo Duke, ran roughshod over the law.

"Necessary Roughness" (2011-2013) was about a New York psychotherapist who moves to Atlanta to help counsel the players of a professional football team.
3. Roseanne

Answer: Married...with Children

Both are set in Illinois (Lanford and Chicago).

"Roseanne" (1988-1997) was about the blue-collar Conner family who lived in Lanford, Illinois.

I went with the oldie "Here Come the Brides" (1968-1970) about loggers in the Washington Territory and their efforts to find wives.

"Rick and Morty" is an animated series which first aired in 2013, and deals with brilliant scientist Rick Sanchez who teams up with his not-too-bright grandson, Morty, to go on adventures across the universe.
7. Charles in Charge

Answer: House, M.D.

Both are set in New Jersey (New Brunswick and Plainsboro).

"Charles in Charge" (1984-1990) starred Scott Baio as a college student in New Brunswick who gets a job as a live-in housekeeper and caretaker.

"House, M.D." (2004-2012) had Hugh Laurie playing the brilliant but irascible diagnostician Gregory House at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
8. Dawson's Creek

Answer: St. Elsewhere

Both are set in Massachusetts (Capeside and Boston).

"Dawson's Creek" (1998-2003) was about the lives and loves of teenagers living in Capeside, Massachusetts, e.g., Dawson, Pacey and Joey.

I went way back for "Sky King" (1951-1962), an early show about rancher and pilot Schuyler King who uses his plane to catch criminals in Grover, Arizona.

"Alice" (1975-1985) starred Linda Lavin as a widowed, wannabee singer who winds up working in Mel's Diner in Phoenix. Arizona.
10. Murder, She Wrote

Answer: Dark Shadows

Both are set in Maine (Cabot Cove and Collinsport).

"Murder, She Wrote" (1984-1996) had Angela Lansbury playing crime-solving author Jessica Fletcher in Cabot Cove, Maine.

"Dark Shadows" (1966-1991) was a daytime Gothic soap opera about rich Barnabas Collins and the unusual happenings in Collinsport, Maine.
11. The Waltons

Answer: American Dad!

Both are set in Virginia (Jefferson County and Langley Falls).

"The Waltons" (1971-1981) was the heart-warming story of the Walton family of Jefferson County and their struggles through the Depression era.
