Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This is the absolute last line: "Her life could have been as rich as any woman's, if only ... if only."

Answer: Turnabout Intruder

This is one of the awful ones, sorry. Although the premise, mind-body exchange, is interesting, the episode is hopelessly chauvinistic, and the last line reflects it. A sad way for the Original Series' final aired episode to end on June 3, 1969.
2. "Let's get the hell out of here." What is the episode?

Answer: The City on the Edge of Forever

Kirk had been forced by the time stream to sacrifice a woman he had fallen in love with to save the Enterprise from nonexistence. His choice was clear, but not easy. He wanted nothing more to do with the time Guardian.
3. It trails off into the credits. "The last such occurrence took place on old Earth, when the Romans were warring with the ...".

Answer: Spock's Brain

One of the worst episodes, with yet a humorous ending. McCoy: "I should have never reconnected his mouth." Spock nonetheless went babbling on about old Earth.
4. "I never get involved with older women, Yeoman."

Answer: Miri

Miri appeared to be maybe fifteen, and Kirk wooed her nonetheless. For strategic purposes. Sure, we'll go with that. Then it turned out that all the children on the planet, including Miri, were more than 300 years old. Yeoman Rand reminded Kirk that "She really loved you, you know." To which he replied with the above last line. Which retroactively kept everything from being totally inappropriate. Right.
5. "Well, what do you know. I finally got the last word."

Answer: Journey to Babel

One of my favorites. McCoy, appearing to break the fourth wall with his last line, had just hushed all of his recuperating patients in Sick Bay: Sarek, Spock, and Kirk. "You ARE at your station, Mister Spock!"
6. Maybe the only last line delivered by Nurse Chapel: "It was beautiful."

Answer: Return to Tomorrow

Chapel had a major plot-point role in the episode: carrying Spock's "consciousness" (later called "katra") within herself until Henoch's essence could be expelled from Spock's body. Her last line referred to Sargon and Thalassa's "last embrace" before oblivion, using the bodies of Kirk and Ann Mulhall (Diana Muldaur).
7. "Forget."

Answer: Requiem for Methuselah

Kirk only fell in love hard twice in the series: Edith Keeler and Rayna Kapek. In the case of Rayna, an android, his love essentially converted her to human, but left her not enough time to adjust to newfound emotions, and she perished as a result. A tragedy.

But it also gave us one of the best codas of the series: Kirk asleep with McCoy fretting over his mental state and Spock delivering relief via mind meld in a private moment. This moment was of course mirrored in "Wrath of Khan" when Spock transferred his katra to McCoy, murmuring "Remember", before entering the fatal radiation chamber.
8. Here's another non-Kirk last line: "Yes, we're very much alike, Captain. Both proud of our ships."

Answer: The Corbomite Maneuver

This was the first episode produced after the two pilots ("The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before"), although it aired much later, #10 November 10, 1966. The line was spoken by (a dubbed) Clint Howard, just turned 7 years of age, as Balok. "This is tranya. I hope you relish it as much as I." The episode introduced one of the most iconic images of the series, the Balok puppet.
9. And there was plenty of humor on the Enterprise. Kirk: "You've been so concerned about his Vulcan eyes, Doctor, you forgot about his Vulcan ears."

Answer: Operation: Annihilate!

McCoy had called Spock "the best first officer in the fleet" earlier, and told Kirk, sotto voce, not to tell Spock he'd said it. Spock: "Why, thank you, Doctor McCoy."
10. "Well, this is an Enterprise first. Doctor McCoy, Mister Spock and Engineer Scott find themselves in complete agreement. Can I stand the strain?"

Answer: The Lights of Zetar

They were in complete agreement that the best decision was for Lieutenant Mira Romaine to promptly return to work on the Enterprise, after her involuntary ordeal as a host (body and brain) for the Zetarians. Spock's appraisal: "I would say her struggle in this experience would strengthen her entire ego structure." A good "strong woman" episode. (Although the men referred to her throughout as "the girl". Ugh.)
