Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the episode "The White Witch", what is Thall Joben's profession?

Answer: mechanic

Thall Joben was a mechanic who helped his friend Jord Dusat with fixing his speeder. He ended up having to race Jord's speeder in the episode "A Race To The Finish". Thall Joben and Jord Dusat were C-3PO and R2-D2's first masters. Thall Joben did own a lightsaber, but he never built one. It was left in a speeder that he was repairing that no one ever came to pick up.
2. Who is the bounty hunter that is searching for Mon Julpa in the episode "The New King"?

Answer: IG-88

IG-88 was hired by Zatec-Cha to capture Mon Julpa so he wouldn't return to claim his rightful spot as heir of the throne in Tammuz-an. Boba Fett did make an appearance on the "Droids" series, but it was in the episode "A Race To The Finish". Sollag was never a bounty hunter. He was a friend of Mon Julpa's. He was there to help save him.
3. What Planet is the pirate Kybo Ren's fortress on?

Answer: Tarnoonga

Tarnoonga is a water planet. Perfect for Kybo Ren. After all, he was a pirate. The fortress was shown in the episode "The Pirates Of Tarnoonga".
4. What is Admiral Screed, Govenor Koong, Gaff, and Mungo Baobab searching for?

Answer: Roon stones

Roon stones were a valuable and priceless stone. They all wanted them in their grasp.
5. What was the name of C-3PO and R2-D2's second master?

Answer: Jann Tosh

Jann Tosh traded his mining droid to Yorpa for C-3PO, R2-D2, and Kez Iban in a auction in the episode "The Lost Prince". He stayed with them for five episodes. Mungo Baobab was a master of C-3PO and R2-D2, but he was their third master in the series.
6. What was the name of the pilot that saved Jann Tosh on occasion?

Answer: Jessica Meade

Jessica Meade met Jann Tosh in the episode "The Lost Prince". She later flew him to Tammuz-an to help Mon Julpa. They remained good friends.
7. Including "The Great Heep", how many episodes of "Droids" were produced?

Answer: Fourteen

The show only aired for one season. Thirteen episodes were made plus one television special, making the count at fourteen. The show was on the air in the fall 1985 season on ABC. It had been in syndication from time to time. The Sci-Fi channel was showing it in the early 1990's, and the Canadian channel Global aired it from 1985 up until sometime in the mid 1990's.
8. Stewart Copeland preformed the theme song "Trouble Again" for the "Droids" series. Which popular music group from the early 1980's did he play for?

Answer: The Police

Stewart Copeland was a member of "The Police". He played the drums for the group. The song is in the "new wave" style. The cartoon tried to be as hip as it could be for 1985. The hair styles from all of the characters also represented the "new wave" era of fashion.
9. In the episode "The Lost Prince", we learn that Zatec-Cha put Mon Julpa under a spell that gave him amnesia. What was the new name that Jann Tosh gave Mon Julpa to let him know that they were friends?

Answer: Kez Iban

Mon Julpa's memory had been erased. He had no idea who he was. Uncle Gundy and Jann Tosh had been trying to figure out a name for him. Uncle Gundy said the word "Kez Iban" after his life was saved by Mon Julpa. Jann Tosh wondered what it was. C-3PO told him that it was a Bocce word meaning "He that returns from death". Jann liked it and decided that "Kez Iban" would be Mon Julpa's new name.
10. What was the name of the gang that Tig, Vlix, and Sise belonged to?

Answer: the "Fromm" gang

They belonged to the "Fromm" gang. It was their last name. They were the enemies in the first four episodes. "Droids" also had a toy line based off the show. The characters that were available are C-3PO, R2-D2, Thall Joben, Jord Dusat, Kea Moll, Tig Fromm, Sise Fromm, Jann Tosh, Uncle Gundy, Kez Iban, A-wing Pilot, and Boba Fett. Both the A-wing Pilot and Boba Fett were left overs from the original Star Wars toy line.

A second series for the toy line was planned but never produced. The unproduced characters were Mungo Baobab, Jessica Meade, Kleb Zellock, Mon Julpa, Govenor Koong, Admiral Screed, Gaff, and Vlix. Vlix was available in Brazil though. Making him very valuable to collectors. Along with action figures there were a few vehicles based off the show as well.

The entire series of "Droids" has been available on VHS.
