Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who protects Lori at the onset of the apocalypse, gathering her and her son Carl and taking them toward the Atlanta Safe Zone?

Answer: Shane

Shane looked after Lori and Carl the first two weeks after the Outbreak in King County, until things got too overrun and the military directed people to head toward the safe zone. Shane told Lori Rick had died at the hospital, and took her and her son toward Atlanta, but they ended up staying in a camp outside the city in a quarry.
2. Rick and Lori had a happy, storybook marriage prior to the apocalypse.

Answer: False

Rick and Lori's marriage is strained at the start of season one, before Lori ever has her affair with Shane. In a flashback in season 2, Lori is seen telling a friend outside of Carl's school that she sometimes wishes Rick would just "blow up" and have it out with her instead of remaining so dispassionate.

She wonders if they married too young. Lori was bothered by his refusal to talk about his feelings, and she in turn had a tendency to snip at him.
3. On the way to Atlanta at the start of the apocalypse, Lori and her traveling companions get stuck in traffic. Who do they meet and befriend while stopped in the traffic jam?

Answer: Carol and Sophia

In a flashback in the season 2 episode "Chupacabra," the audience is shown a scene of a long line of stuck cars honking in frustration as people try to make it to the Atlanta Safe Zone. While they're waiting, Lori talks with Carol, and Carl and Sophia play checkers on the tailgate of one of the vehicles. Carl says he's hungry, and Carol offers some of their food, but her husband Ed is irritated by her offer.
4. In the season 1 episode, "Guts," Shane and Lori begin to fool around, but something makes Lori pause for a moment. What is it?

Answer: She notices Rick's wedding ring

Shane sneaks up behind Lori in the brush, puts a hand over her mouth, brings her to the ground, and asks, "How much time to we have?" Lori replies, "Enough," and they start to undress. But then Lori notices Rick's wedding ring dangling from the necklace around her neck.

The ring was taken off him in the hospital, and she's been wearing it ever since. Lori takes off the chain and lays it aside before she and Shane proceed. Later, Lori gives Rick his wedding ring back.
5. What did Lori used to make on Sundays, even though she knew they were awful?

Answer: Pancakes

In season 4, Ricks tells Carol how Lori used to make pancakes before the apocalypse on every Sunday even though she knew they were awful because "she wanted to be that kind of family that had pancakes on Sunday." Although Rick says this as if recalling a fond memory, it seems to imply a darker truth about their marriage, where both were, to some extent, just playing a role.
6. Why does Lori agree to go to the CDC?

Answer: To show her support for Rick

In the season 1 episode "Wildfire," Shane wants to go to Fort Benning, and Rick wants to go to the CDC to see if they can get help for Jim. Lori prefers Shane's idea and tells Rick that she's not sure she can follow him on blind faith. He tells her, "I love you. That's all I've got." Eventually, she decides to show her support and follow Rick, while Shane tells her that her attempts to repair her faltering marriage should not come before the good of the group.
7. Where is Lori when Shane attempts to rape her?

Answer: In the library at the CDC

In the season 1 episode "TS-19," while Lori is browsing the library shelves, Shane comes in and closes the door behind him. He tries to defend himself with regard to telling her Rick was still alive. He blocks her exit and becomes sexually aggressive toward her. He eventually backs off and leaves the room when she scratches him across the neck and makes him bleed.
8. Lori initially protests scavenging through the trunks of abandoned cars on the highway, saying she feels like they're looting what?

Answer: A graveyard

In the season 2 episode "What Lies Ahead," Lori shows a rather squeamish conscience about taking things from the trunks of people who have fled or died. Carol tells her she's taking the things she is because Ed used to not let her wear nice things, and Lori relents.
9. Who does Lori ask to get her a pregnancy test?

Answer: Glenn

She asks Glenn to get it when he's on a run into town and to be discreet about it. In the season 2 episode "Cherokee Rose," she takes the test and it comes back positive, but she's still not ready to tell Rick. However, Glenn blurts out to Rick that Lori is pregnant.
10. Lori tries to take pills to abort her pregnancy. Why do the pills fail?

Answer: She changes her mind and throws them up

In the season 2 episode "Secrets," Lori has Glenn get her methotrexate, which are pills used to terminate a pregnancy. Maggie is enraged when she finds out, because she was attacked by a walker in the pharmacy when they went to loot it and feels like Lori selfishly put them in danger.

Although Lori takes the pills, she abruptly changes her mind and forces herself to throw them up in a field.
11. Does Lori ever tell Rick about her affair with Shane?

Answer: Yes

She admits it to him in season 2, "Secrets," but only after he asks if there is something more she's not telling him. This is unusual directness from Rick, and she answers honestly. He tells her that he sensed something had happened, but that he forgives her because she thought he was dead.
12. In "Nebraska," Lori goes looking for Rick, hits a walker, and flips her car. When she awakens and finds the walker trying to get at her, what weapon does she use to kill it?

Answer: A screwdriver

In the season 2 episode "Nebraska," a pregnant Lori is worried about Rick, who left with Glenn to look for Hershel. Daryl is upset about his futile attempt to find Sophia and snaps, "I'm done looking for people!" He also doesn't see why he should given that Rick and Glenn are already out there. Lori gets it into her head that she should go help them, but while consulting a map and driving, she hits a walker.

The car spins out and flips on its side, and she passes out. In the next episode, "Triggerfiner," she awakens to a walker trying to get at her.

She kills it with a screwdriver. Another attacks her, and she gets her gun and shoots it.
13. When Hershel's farm is overrun, with whom does Lori escape?

Answer: T-Dog and Beth

In the season 2 episode "Beside the Dying Fire," Lori is desperate to find Carl, but Carol urges her that it's time to flee. She tries to leave with Carol, Beth, Patricia, and T-Dog, but Carol is separated from them and Patricia is consumed by walkers. Lori ends up escaping with just Beth and T-Dog, though Daryl later rescues Carol on his motorcycle.

The group reunites on the highway, except for those who were killed and Andrea, who has been separated from the group.
14. What is the cause of Lori's death in "The Walking Dead"?

Answer: Blood loss during an emergency C-section

In season 3, episode 4, "Killer Within," Lori bleeds out during an emergency C-section performed by Maggie. Her son Carl is forced to shoot her to keep her from reanimating. However, she successfully gives birth to Judith before she dies.
15. Before she dies, Lori tells Carl, "Don't let the world ___ you." What is missing from the blank?

Answer: Spoil

Throughout the show, Lori was always concerned with the way growing up in such a brutal world would affect the formation of Carl's character. As she lays dying, she tells him, "You promise me you will always do what's right. It's so easy to do the wrong thing in this world. So...so if it feels wrong, don't do it, all right? If it feels easy, don't do it, don't let the world spoil you. You're so good, my sweet boy. Best thing I ever did."
