Sasha lived in Jacksonville, Florida at the onset of the apocalypse. She and her brother survived in their neighbor Jerry's bunker for about seven months, until the group ran out of supplies and emerged. They met up with more survivors and made a camp, but it was overrun. Then they wandered until stumbling upon the prison where Rick's group was staying.

In season 4, episode 1, "30 Days Without An Accident," Sasha begins giving directions on a supply run: "All right, we go in, stay in formation for the sweep. After that, you all know what you're supposed to look for. Any questions?"

That's when Tyreese asks, "Was there ever a time you weren't the boss of me?"

Sasha quips in reply, "You had a few years before I was born," because Tyreese is her older brother.

Sasha develops a relationship with Bob Stookey, a member of the prison camp and a former Army medic. He is eventually bitten by a walker and partially consumed by people from Terminus and dies, however. Sasha hacks up a church pew in rage after he dies, and she wears his army coat for a while.

Sasha later forges a bond with Abraham and develops a romantic relationship with him after he breaks up with Rosita. In season 6, episode 14, Abraham tells her, "It could be thirty years for us here...that's still too short."

The Hilltop does not form a council until sometime after Sasha's death. Before then it was ruled by Gregory and then Maggie. Sasha serves on the prison council, along with Hershel, Daryl, Carol, and Glenn. In addition, she works as a supply runner for the prison. She also works as a guard and marksman for the Alexandria Safe-Zone prior to being taken prisoner by Negan.

Sasha makes her first appearance on the show in season 3, episode 8, "Made to Suffer." After saving Sasha's group, Carl guides them back to the cell block. Sasha tries to get Rick to take them in, but he's hallucinating and yelling to "get out," and she thinks he's yelling at them, so they leave and end up at Woodbury instead.

In "Welcome to the Tombs," when the Governor goes to attack the prison, Tyreese tells him that he and Sasha don't kill people, only walkers, but they will remain behind in Woodbury to protect the children. Sasha is wary of the Governor's cold reaction to this statement when he hands Tyreese a rifle.

They stay behind and later learn that the Governor turned on the Woodbury soldiers who would not continue fighting. Sasha and Tyreese are taken with the survivors to the prison.

Philip Blake was the Governor and leader of Woodbury. Negan is the leader of the Saviors. Owen was the leader of the Wolves. In season 5, episode 3, "Four Walls and a Roof," the former residents of Terminus, who have been hunting Rick's group, surrender in a church. Rick refuses to spare them and hacks into their leader, Gareth.

When Martin tries to escape, Sasha repeatedly stabs him until he dies.

In season 7, episode 5, "Go Getters," Sasha gives Maggie Glenn's pocket watch which she recovered (the one Maggie's father gave to him), and Maggie lays it on Glenn's grave. Sasha tells her she could only find a cigar for Abraham. She honors him by smoking that cigar while she sharpens her knife and contemplates revenge on Negan.

Sasha commits suicide by ingesting a cyanide capsule that Eugene prepares for her. She does this to foil Negan's plan to use her as a hostage to manipulate her friends back in Alexandria. In season 10, Sasha appears in a hallucination of Michonne's where Michonne is choosing who to kill with Negan's bat.

In season 7, episode 16, "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life," a reanimated Sasha bursts forth from the display coffin when it is opened. The Sasha walker attacks Negan but doesn't manage to bite him. She is forced off of him. Maggie and Jesus later find her in the woods after their battle with the Saviors. Jesus pins Sasha while Maggie stabs her in the head.
