Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Robert Vaughn was one of "The Magnificent Seven" in the film of 1960 but who appeared in the 1998 television series based on the film?

Answer: Robert Vaughn

Robert Vaughn was the only member of the film cast to appear in the show. He was no longer one of the seven, however but appeared as a judge, Oren Travis, in a variety of episodes.
2. David McCallum starred in a British show called "Sapphire and Steel". Which character did he play?

Answer: Steel

A serialised drama that was years ahead of its time, Sapphire (Joanna Lumley) and Steel were other-worldly special agents trying to fix problems with time or space itself. Tense psychological stories and bizarre problems were contrasted with mundane English settings to great effect. Overall there were six short seasons of four to eight episodes each.
3. Both actors reprised their roles in "The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E". Which other famous action hero also appeared in the film?

Answer: James Bond

While the character was only referred to as "J.B.", he was played by George Lazenby, drove an Aston Martin and was very clearly based on 007. Patrick Macnee, who played John Steed in "The Avengers" was also in the film, but as Sir John Raleigh the new head of U.N.C.L.E. Leo G Carroll, who played Mr Waverley, had died several years earlier.
4. "Colditz" was set in a German POW camp during WWII. Who was imprisioned throughout the series?

7. David McCallum guest-starred on "Babylon 5" as an alien ambassador.

Answer: False

David McCallum did have a guest-shot on the series in the first season episode "Infection". However he played Dr Vance Hendricks, a human doctor who had been a mentor to Dr Franklin, not an alien.
8. Between the three series, a lot of people have guest-starred on "Law & Order". Which version did both men appear on prior to 2006?

Answer: Law & Order (original)

David McCallum appeared in the episode "Past Imperfect" in 1997 while Robert Vaughn played Carl Anderton in three episodes in 1997 and 1998. Robert Vaughn also made a guest-appearance in "Law & Order: SVU" in 2006.
9. Robert Vaughn co-starred in the BBC production "Hustle" about a group of con-men in London. His character is Albert Stroller, but what is his role in the group?

Mickey Stone (played by Adrian Lester) is the leader of the group, while Ash Morgan (Robert Glenister) provides the technical support. The other members of the gang are Stacie Monroe (Jaime Murray) and Danny Blue (Marc Warren).
10. David McCallum returned to stardom in "NCIS", regularly one of the top-twenty shows on US television. Usually referred to as "Ducky", what is his character's real first name?

Answer: Donald
