Miss Watson was walking around her classroom. She was observing her students while they took a test. Miss Watson noticed Norman was not taking his test; he was staring off into space. Miss Watson asked Norman if he was alright. Norman blacked out and fell off his chair. Lucky for Norman, Miss Watson was standing right beside him. She caught him before he hit the floor.

Answer: Dylan was guarding a field of illegal drugs.

Dylan and Ethan parked and concealed Ethan's truck in the woods. The two men were walking in the woods when they came upon a large field of marijuana. Dylan was in awe of the enormous amount of illegal drugs that were in front of him. Ethan told Dylan there was five million dollars worth of drugs in the field. Dylan and Ethan both were paid three hundred dollars a day to guard the product.

Norma had to leave Norman by himself in the hospital. The carpet for the hotel was being delivered and Norma had to sign for it. Bradley came in a few minutes later with a plant for Norman. It was the same plant Norman gave Bradley when he visited her in the hospital. Bradley told Norman "Tag, you're it" because he had visited her previously in the hospital. Bradley got into the bed with Norman and they watched a movie on the television in his hospital room.

Answer: The police came to her house with a search warrant.

Norma returned to her son Norman in the hospital. She informed Norman that the police had presented a warrant to search their home. Norma told an obviously upset Norman not to worry; they had cleaned the house thoroughly. Norma was unaware at the time that Norman had kept Keith Summer's tool belt. She thought Norman was concerned because of the murder of Keith Summers in their home.

Norman had just placed the plates, silverware, and napkins on the kitchen table. Norman walked into the kitchen just as Norma removed the turkey pot pie from the oven. She told her son it was turkey pot pie. They did not get to eat the homemade dinner because Norman confessed to Norma about the tool belt. Norma left Norman to go and take care of this new issue. Before she left, she asked Norman why he would keep something like that.

She could not understand why Norman would keep the belt of the man who assaulted her.

Ethan and Dylan were talking about who owned the field of illegal drugs. There was a rustling in a nearby bush and both men jumped to their feet. Both grabbed their guns in case there was someone in the bushes. A pheasant flew out of the bushes and the two men decided to go hunting. Later that night, Ethan and Dylan were talking about Dylan's family. Dylan was cleaning the pheasant while he told Ethan about Norman and Norma.

Answer: Jack Daniels and Coke

Zack had invited Norma over for dinner. Norma had seen Zack earlier that day and was trying to get information. Zack told her to come to dinner that night and they could talk. Norma arrived at Zack's house and he asked her what she would like to drink.

She told him she was not picky so he made them each a Jack and Coke. Zack told Norma he had the tool belt and the Sheriff did not know it. He told Norma not to worry; he would not say anything and he would protect her.

Norman was lying on his bed thinking of how to fix things with the tool belt. He laid in bed so long it went from day to night outside. Norma came into Norman's room and told him it was his fault things were messed up. She told her son he would have to get the belt back. Norman apologized to his mother and promised he would retrieve the belt.

This entire conversation was held all within Norman's head. His mother was really not there, he just imagined she was. This episode started to show us that Norman has some serious problems.

Answer: basement

Norman had broken into Zack's house, looking for Keith Summer's tool belt. He went down to the basement to continue his desperate search for the missing belt. Norman entered a room in the back and turned on the lights. He first saw a bed and then noticed the Chinese girl laying on a bean bag chair.

She was chained in the room. Norman was unable to free her because Zack had just come home. He promised the girl he would return for her.

Answer: Paul Edwards

Paul did a fantastic job on directing this episode of "Bates Motel". Paul has directed a great many episodes of different television series. He has directed an episode of "Rake" with funny man Greg Kinnear and "Supernatural". Paul did not miss a beat or let the storytelling from the previous two episodes lag at all.

He kept the excitement and suspense from the other episodes alive and well for me in episode three. He could have easily been the director on the previous two just because of the way the continuity stayed from episode to episode.
