1. Before Dante is able to confront Vergil for the first time atop Temen Ni Gru, how many INDIVIDUAL guardians inside the tower does he have to face to reach that level?

Answer: Three

This question is a little sneaky. The three guardians are Agni, Rudra, and Cerberus. Dante battles Agni and Rudra at the same time, so he has only two battles with guardians, but battles three individuals.

2. When Dante defeats Agni and Rudra, what is the condition he sets for them to travel with him?

Answer: That they remain silent

Dante uses the reference that he doesn't like anyone speaking other than himself a few times throughout the game. The opening scene to this battle consisted of them arguing over how they were going to entertain him. Dante, being the impatient young person that he was got really annoyed with this. Dante was about to leave without them after their defeat, when they pleaded for them to take them with him.

He agreed, but with one request...NO TALKING.

3. When Dante finally confronts Vergil, what is his response to his inquiry of "Why do you refuse to gain power?! The power of our father, Sparda?"

Answer: Both of these

After the siblings' first confrontation, Vergil becomes seemingly annoyed that Dante doesn't seem to embrace their father's power as he does. He just gives him a really cynical reaction (the only type of reaction Dante knows how to give). "Father, I don't have a father. I just don't like you, that's all." Vergil then impales Dante with his own sword.

This seems to happen a lot to him throughout this series.

4. How long has it been since Dante encountered Vergil?

Answer: One year

Dante refers to this when he first realizes that it is his brother who has summoned him. He looks at him from the base of the tower and proclaims, "It's been nearly a year since we last met, where does the time go?"

5. What item is needed to enter the area to battle Nevan?

Answer: Ambrosia

No orbs were needed to open any doors in this game, as with the original. A reflective light puzzle (such that it is) is used, but far earlier in the level. The stone mask is retrieved AFTER Nevan is defeated in the following room.

6. What was the one thing Vergil was lacking that was needed to open the gate to the demon world?

Answer: Lady's blood.

Vergil becomes extremely agitated that the spell isn't breaking. Arkham, whom he thought he killed, informed him that the blood from the daughter of the "sacrificed woman" was needed to break the spell. LET'S WELCOME CHAOS!

7. You've just completed mission 13 where you witness the path to the demon world being erected. If you've collected all of the weapons available at this point, how many guns AND melee weapons do you have in total? (NOTE: Ebony & Ivory is counting as one gun. Agni & Rudra is counting as one melee weapon.)

Answer: Eight

This is right before you receive Beowulf, so you only have eight. They guns are Ebony and Ivory, Shotgun, Spiral, and Artemis. For Artemis, you have to finish all three trials on mission 6. Otherwise, you can retrieve it on mission 16. The melee weapons are Rebellion, Cerberus, Agni and Rudra, and Nevan.

8. What is absolutely necessary to have equipped in order to complete secret mission 12?

Answer: Trickster

This is a secret mission where you really have to pay attention to where the blue orb fragment is when you initially enter. You have to scale the walls in order to complete this mission, because there are no elevator platforms to take you to where the fragment is located. The only skill you have that will allow you to do that is Trickster.

Answer: Come on!

He actually uses the "Come on!" taunt in "Devil May Cry 4". The taunt that Dante uses is based on what style he's currently on when attacking enemies. SSS = "Sweet baby!" (very rarely said), C&D = "Come on wimp!", and S&SS = "You scared?".

10. Who does Vergil SAY that it will be fun to fight with during the last cinematic of the game?

Answer: The Prince of Darkness

You have to defeat one hundred enemies during the ending credits to see this scene. You see a defeated Vergil rising from what appears to be the beginning of mission 19 in the demon world. You then see the three circles that represent Mundus. However, he SAYS that it will be fun to fight with the "prince of darkness. If my father can do, so can I!" He's wrong, as he becomes Mundus's lackey in "Devil May Cry 1".
