Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy", the main antagonists are twins known as Gol and Maia. Which "twisted" real-life rock star voiced Gol?

Answer: Dee Snider

Dee Snider, the vocalist of the '80s rock group "Twisted Sister", known for their hit songs "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock", provided the voice for Gol. It's also reported that Gol is named in honor of Gil Archeron who created the first "Jak and Daxter" game.
2. Daxter is an animal known as an Ottsel. In "Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy", what caused Daxter to transform into this creature?

Answer: A pool of Dark Eco

Daxter was transformed into our beloved Ottsel (an otter/weasel hybrid) after accidentally falling into a pool of Dark Eco while exploring with Jak. It was this event that lead to the adventure of Jak and Daxter trying find a Sage (Gol) that could turn Daxter human once more.
3. In the opening scene of "Jak 2" after the gang travels to the future, Jak is quickly taken into custody by the crimson guard. Two years later Daxter finds him. What were Jak's first words?

Answer: "I'm gonna kill Praxis!"

Baron Praxis experimented on Jak with Dark Eco, believing that he could turn Jak into a super weapon to fight the metal heads. This in turn gave Jak his dark powers unbeknownst to the baron, who was going to dispose of him, until Daxter's rescue.
4. During "Jak 2" you meet an old soothsayer named Onin. Upon entering her tent you also meet a monkey/parrot hybrid named Pecker. What was Pecker's explanation as to why that was his name?

Answer: His mother was vindictive

After revealing his name, amongst Jak and Daxter's stifled giggles, Pecker says "Yes, yes I know...my mother she was...very vindictive."
5. In "Jak 3" after taking out some massive waste land metal heads, Jak finds a communicator that shows Erol survived. Jak then crushes it under his boot, to which Daxter says... what?

Answer: "You sure kicked sand in his face!"

In "Jak 3", Kleiver reveals there are some massive metal heads detected in the area. Jak then proceeded to hunt them down and wipe them out. Afterwards he finds that one was carrying a Dark Eco crystal. While he examines the crystal, the communicator turns on revealing Erol, though Jak doesn't fully recognize him at the time.
6. In "Jak 3" we meet a character named Damas who is the leader of Spargus City. He tells us he once had a son. Who was his son later revealed to be?

Answer: Jak

Damas was ruler of the wastelander settlement Spargus City. Before Spargus he was ruler of Haven City until Baron Praxis betrayed him. Damas was very fond of Jak because he reminded him of the son he never knew. Later on in the game Jak must call on Damas for help fighting metalheads, which unfortunately ends with Damas being killed. Before taking his last breath, he ask Jak to find his son and hands him an amulet. Jak recognizes this amulet as the same one that his child self from "Jak 2" wore, thus also realizing too late that Damas was his father.
7. In the game "Daxter", our title character is employed to take care of infestations of metal heads, only people don't refer to them as such. What are metal heads known as in this game?

Answer: Bugs

After telling one of his outlandish hero stories in a bar, Daxter is hired to be a bug exterminator for the last extermination business in town by a man named Osmo, who had witnessed first hand Jak and Daxter's arrival and Daxter's subsequent escape from Crimson Guards. Seeing Daxter knock down a guard, Osmo had a misconception of Daxter's bravery and thought (possibly correctly) that he was perfect for the job.
8. In "Daxter", during a mission on an eco tanker, Daxter finds a termite that he takes as his sidekick. What name did he give his new companion?

Answer: Tik

Daxter found the "termite" while clearing an eco tanker of metal bugs. Having always wanted a sidekick of his own, Daxter takes the little bug with him and names it Tik after the sound it makes. Tik is proven to be useful in later missions because he is able to work his way into computer chips and short circuit them.
9. In the "Jak and Daxter" series, Jak and Daxter are really close and do almost everything together. What is their relationship?

Answer: They are best friends

The fact that they are best friends is evident. It's later confirmed late into "Jak 3". After Damas dies and Jak discovers that he was his father, Jak also learns that Count Veger is the one responsible for taking Jak from Damas when he was a child. When Veger flees into the catacombs, Daxter yells "After him, Jak!" to which Jak poses the question of Daxter willing to go somewhere creepy. Daxter responds with "It's just that nobody hurts my best friend and lives to brag about it."
10. Naughty Dog had actually begun working on "Jak 4" back in late 2010. They decided to shelve it during the time in favour of creating what other game instead?

Answer: "The Last of Us"

Back in 2010-2011, Naughty Dog had actually began work on "Jak 4". They however decided to shelve it due to three reasons. One being that the studio had leaked concept art to gauge fans reactions at the time, which were mostly unfavorable. Two is that at the time, they were also working on "Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception", so the developers were split into two teams; team A were assigned "Uncharted 3" and team B to "Jak 4". Team B didn't feel they could do justice to the "Jak" series by themselves.

The final reason is that Naughty Dog had also been playing with the idea of an all new game and ultimately decided to go in that direction. That game would go on to be known as "The Last of Us".
