Answer: Niko Bellic

Niko Bellic is the character that you play in "GTA 4" and is from the former country of Yugoslavia. It is revealed in the game that he had taken part in the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s and this has affected his outlook on life. One cutscene in the game he reveals how he had come across a scene where young children had their throats slit outside a church. "GTA 4" was released in 2008 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

CJ goes and picks up Kent Paul and Maccer in the desert, when on the mission "Don Peyote" for The Truth. During the cut scene and in game audio Maccer mentions the boroughs of Salford and Chorlton which are parts of Greater Manchester region in the UK. Maccer was born in Salford and is a member of the band The Gurning Chimps which is supposedly part of the Madchester music scene.

The Maccer character was voiced by the Happy Mondays lead singer Shaun Ryder. "GTA: San Andreas" was released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, with 2005 being the release date for Xbox and PC.

Answer: Vega

The character Vega was born in Barcelona, Spain and first appeared in the video game "Street Fighter 2". Vega wears a mask and has the appearance of a matador and he uses a claw type weapon in his style of fighting, however he was not a playable character and was a boss.

The Vega character also appeared in the 1994 movie based on the video game series and the role of Vega was played Jay Tavare. "Street Fighter 2" was released in 1991 for the arcade machines before finding its way onto various home formats it is also one of Capcom's best-selling titles.

Answer: Glass Joe

Glass Joe is the opening opponent in the arcade and video game "Punch Out". His character was born in Paris and it plays on typical stereotypes of the French, mainly about them being cowardly. Glass Joe has appeared on the arcade, NES and Wii versions of "Punch Out". Despite his character being the weakest in the game, Glass Joe has gone on to be one of the icons of the game and some critics have lamented his loss of not being included in some of the "Punch Out" games.

While France is often accused of being cowardly, in terms of actual battles, they have won more than they have lost. They have a record of taking part in 168 battles with 109 wins and lost a total of 49, they have also had 10 draws.

Answer: Ezio Auditore

Ezio Auditore da Firenze was born in the city of Florence on the 24th June, 1459. After watching his father and brothers being hanged by Rodrigo Borgia he becomes a member of the Assassin's to seek his revenge against the Templers. "AC 2" was the sequel to the first "Assassin's Creed" video game and it was the first appearance of the Ezio Auditore character. Ezio's character also appeared as the main playable historical character in the games "AC Brotherhood" and "AC Revelations". One of the more enjoyable aspects of "AC 2" is its use of historical figures in the story such as Rodrigo Borgia, Niccolo Machiavelli, Caterina Sforza, Lorenzo de' Medici and Leonardo da Vinci.

Answer: Brigid Tenenbaum

Brigid Tenenbaum grew up near Minsk in Belarus. In her teens she was transported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. While there she witnessed the doctors' experiments and pointed out where they was going wrong, this saved her but she came to regret it in later life.

In the "Bioshock" video game it is revealed that she helped to create the Little Sisters in the underwater city of Rapture. The Little Sisters would pair bonded with a Big Daddy and the player would have to kill the Big Daddy to gain access to the Little Sister.

When the player has gained control of the Little Sister they have the option to save them or harvest them for the ADAM. The ADAM is what is used to upgrade your character in the game.

Answer: Sean Devlin

Sean Devlin is the Irish race car mechanic that is the playable character from the game "The Saboteur". He and best friend want revenge after being cheated on in a race in 1940. His friend is executed by Nazi's and while trying to kill his friend's murderer, Devlin becomes a part of the French Resistance. "The Saboteur" is set during WW2 in France and just after the games release in 2009 the games developer went into liquidation.

All the other names listed have played for the football club Manchester United. They have also played for the Republic of Ireland national team.

Answer: Voldo

Voldo was born in Palermo, Kingdom of Sicily and first appears in the game "Soul Edge/Soul Blade". Voldo when he fights uses dual hand katars and his character does not speak in the game or any game in the series in which he appears. Kratos, Darth Vader, Yoda, Galen Marek and Ezio Auditore have all appeared in one of the "Soul" series of games and these characters are from other well-known gaming franchises. "Soul Edge/Soul Blade" was released in 1996 for the arcade and the series has never looked back with numerous follow up titles ever since, for the arcade and home consoles.

Answer: Kratos

While Rygar is of Greek origin he is not a character from "God of War" series as that honour lies with the Spartan known as Kratos, who is the main character. Kratos first appeared in the first game of the "God of War" series in 2005. Through the series of games he fights various Greek gods and monsters from Greek mythology. While Kratos is portrayed as an antihero, one thing that cannot be doubted is his popularity amongst gamers and other gaming franchises. The Kratos character has even appeared in other video games such as the 2011 beat'em up "Mortal Kombat", as a DLC for "LittleBigPlanet" and 2009 fighting game "Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny".

Rygar was the name of the character and title for the game "Rygar: The Legendary Adventure".

Answer: Hakan

Hakan is a Turkish oil wrestler and he first appeared in the 2010 video game "Super Street Fighter IV". He has red skin and turquoise hair, though if he got the red skin from sliding across the ground due the oil he uses is not known. Hakan in the world of "Street Fighter" is the head of major olive oil company and travels the world looking for new oils.

In the game it is revealed he is an old friend and rival of the sumo wrestler, E. Hondo. The "Super Street Fighter IV" video game has been available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Arcade, with a later release in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS.
