Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of Sora's home?

Answer: Destiny Islands

Sora lives on Destiny Islands with his best friends Riku and Kairi. The three long for a world outside their home islands and build a raft to set out on an adventure to find one. Things, however, would not turn out as they had planned, as a mysterious group of beings known as Heartless attack and consume Destiny Islands.

While revisiting the cave where Sora and Kairi hung out as small children, a mysterious man in a brown robe appears and leaves Sora a cryptic message about worlds being connected. Sora then finds Riku on the central island where both of them are sucked into the darkness.
2. What mission does King Mickey assign Donald and Goofy?

Answer: To find and accompany the key bearer

Donald walks into the throne room one day only to find that the king has disappeared. The only words left by the king are written in a note apparently addressed to his loyal knights Donald and Goofy. Donald and Goofy then set out to Traverse Town to obtain more information.
3. Is it possible to defeat Leon when Sora first appears in Traverse Town?

Answer: Yes

Though it is extremely unlikely you will defeat Leon when you first meet him in Traverse Town, it is still a possibility. The difference in sheer levels and stats between Leon and where Sora should most likely be at the time is so great that the game basically expects you to lose.

The only ways to beat him are to either stay in Destiny Islands and spend a ridiculous amount of time leveling up against the Heartless or to be extremely patient in your fight against Leon and hope he doesn't hit you. If you win this battle, the story will progress in the same manner, only Leon will be exhausted and Sora will pass out from the fatigue rather than being knocked out. Later, Leon and Yuffie explain to Sora what Aeris explains to Donald and Goofy; that there are many worlds connected to one another and that the happenings of this phenomenon are being studied by someone named Ansem.
4. Who becomes the first Disney character to be transformed into a Heartless?

Answer: Clayton

Clayton is actually the only character from the options listed to be turned into a Heartless. His selfish ambitions to hunt gorillas in Deep Jungle lured the Heartless to his dark heart and consumed him. Clayton is seen in the movie "Tarzan".
5. Who does Maleficent attempt to make an apprentice out of?

Answer: Riku

When the party returns to Traverse Town to ask about the gummi they received in Deep Jungle, Sora meets Riku there and is very happy he does. Riku says he is on a separate quest of his own, but Sora is content knowing that he is alright. When they party is later seen inside a room talking about Maleficent, Maleficent is actually outside the building with Riku. Maleficent explains that Sora has found other friends and that Riku is no longer a part of his life.

She then offers a role for Riku to play on the side of darkness.
6. What creature does Hades unleash upon Cloud at the Coliseum?

Answer: Cerberus

After the party leaves Traverse Town for the second time, they receive word that the Phil Cup is now open for registration. After winning several battles in the tournament they meet Cloud in the finals, who apparently is under Hades' command in exchange for...something. Like the fight with Leon earlier in the game, it doesn't really matter if you win or lose, only this time it is not such a one-sided match.

After the fight Cloud refuses to kill Sora, enraging Hades. Hades unleashes Cerberus on Cloud and Hercules rushes in for the save, leaving the party to deal with Cerberus. Once this battle is over, Phil only promotes the party to "Junior Hero" status.
7. Who abducts Jasmine after the party defeats Jafar in the Cave of Wonders?

Answer: Riku

Riku abducts Jasmine for Maleficent, and as a result is allowed to see Kairi. At this point, he questions Maleficent's intentions, to which she sort of brushes off the question and says he is like a son to her. Back in Agrabah, the party vows to find Jasmine for Aladdin. Their questions lead them back to Traverse Town.
8. While caught inside Monstro, the party meets Riku once again, only this time he has captured Pinocchio. What is his reason for kidnapping Pinocchio?

Answer: To save someone who has lost their heart

Riku again gets in the party's way, which at this point seems not only inconvenient, but rather annoying. Sora, Donald, and Goofy have to constantly run after Riku and Pinocchio, even fighting a certain boss twice. When the party finally catches up to him, Sora demands Pinocchio's release and Riku refuses because he needs him to save "someone" who's lost their heart. Sora thinks about that statement and asks if he is referring to Kairi, to which he gets no response from Riku.

After a boss fight, Riku is nowhere to be found and the party, along with Geppetto's ship are ejected from inside Monstro after he sneezes.
9. Who is the ultimate boss in Atlantica?

Answer: Ursula

The first time the party fights Ursula is in her lair. This battle is more annoying than difficult as her two eels Flotsam and Jetsam are there basically just to attack you and be revived whenever you kill them. The second time you face Ursula she is alone, but she is gigantic.

This battle will most likely be the hardest thus far, as many of her attacks can bring Sora toward 0 HP. Once this battle is over, Ursula is truly defeated and she sinks into the darkness.
10. What does Oogie Boogie swallow in Oogie Manor?

Answer: An artificial heart

When the party arrives in Halloween Town, Lock, Shock, and Barrel steal Dr. Finkelstein's experimental heart and rush to Oogie Manor to give it to Oogie Boogie. The party decides to help Jack Skellington get it back for their experiment. After beating Lock, Shock, and Barrel, the party encounters Oogie Boogie in the Torture Room, where he taunts the party with the heart before swallowing it whole, resulting in a boss fight, sure enough.
11. Once Sora, Donald, and Goofy travel to Neverland they are captured, but quickly escape with Peter Pan. They soon find Wendy who seems to be in a room with someone else. Who is it?

Answer: Kairi

The lifeless Kairi appears to be in a locked room with Wendy. After talking with Wendy for a few moments, she is taken away by pirates and the game continues. Once you make your way to the deck of the ship, Captain Hook informs the party that Riku has taken Kairi to Hollow Bastion, leaving the party to deal with Hook. Once this fight is over, Sora gains the "Glide" ability, allowing him to cruise through the air for a time.
12. When the party arrives at Hollow Bastion, Riku is quick to meet them. What does he manage to take from Sora?

Answer: The Keyblade

Riku explains to Sora that the Keyblade Sora wields chooses him only because Sora is powerful, the implication being that the Keyblade will automatically choose the most powerful being alive. He goes on to claim that he is far more powerful than Sora and as a mere demonstration, calls forth the Keyblade to his hand. Sora is left in shock and wonder as Donald and Goofy must now follow Riku as per their instructions to follow the Keyblade master. Sora is not left alone, however, as the Beast joins Sora in hopes of finding Belle.

The two new friends then make their way up to the castle.
13. Sora defeats Riku in Hollow Bastion after the party returns to his side. Riku runs off after losing to Sora, only to be encountered by the mysterious man in the brown robe. What does Riku obtain in addition to new powers?

Answer: A Keyblade

Sora regains the Keyblade after proving his valor to the Keyblade by being willing to stand up to Riku without it. By this point, Donald and Goofy had already chosen to defy their orders to do the right thing and stand beside Sora. After the party wins the fight, Riku runs through Hollow Bastion wondering why the Keyblade chose Sora, prompting the mysterious robed man to appear before Riku and bestow unto him new dark powers...and a dark Keyblade.
14. Sora finds Kairi in the main chamber of Hollow Bastion, but cannot wake her up. He finds Riku once again, only something is different. Who now possesses Riku's body?

Answer: Ansem

Ansem's studies have lead him to believe that in the void of darkness rests extreme power that he may be able to harness. He has labeled himself "The Seeker of Darkness" and has committed his entire soul to it. He has now achieved his goal of bringing the seven princesses together and has possession of Riku's body as well. Sora's role in his plot comes to fruition as Ansem reveals that the heart of the final princess, Kairi, rests within him and that the new Keyblade has the power to unlock his heart to obtain her. Sora fights back against him, and unfortunately, must battle against him alone.
15. After the second battle against Riku, Sora unlocks his heart to release Kairi's. What happens as a result?

Answer: Kairi awakens and Sora turns into a Heartless

Sora uses Riku's Keyblade, (the same Keyblade Riku used to transform Maleficent into the Dragon), to unlock his own heart. With Sora's heart unlocked, Kairi can now be awakened, but at a price. Sora, much like Maleficent, was transformed into a Heartless, only he is a mere Shadow.

As a Heartless, Sora races down Hollow Bastion after Kairi, Donald, and Goofy. When he finally reaches them they are surrounded by Heartless. Kairi somehow senses Sora in his Heartless form and protects him, causing him to return to his former self as a result of this show of love.

They then fight off the Heartless and return to Traverse Town.
16. Who is the only princess in the game to not be included in Ansem's plot?

Answer: Ariel

The seven princesses are Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Alice, Belle, Jasmine, and Kairi. For some reason, Ariel is not included as one of them to make it eight. Ariel does play a crucial role in Atlantica, but her nobility is not brought up at any other point in the game. Wendy, Jane, Sally, and Meg are not princesses.
17. Who do you have the option of facing in the Platinum Match at the Coliseum?

Answer: Sephiroth

In what is quite possibly the most difficult battle in the game, Sora has the opportunity to battle the super-villian of "Final Fantasy VII", Sephiroth...and he must do it alone. Sephiroth's weapon, the Masamune has a large range to due its length, making head on attacks an unwise, yet unfortunately, necessary part of this battle.

His attacks alone can bring Sora's HP down by nearly 2/3 and his "Sin Harvest" spell can deplete almost all of your HP and MP leaving you with only 1 HP and 1 MP each. As if this wasn't bad enough, Sephiroth's HP is incredibly high as well.

The one comfort you can find in this match is that he will, for the most part, remain stationary until he feels like unleashing a powerful attack on you. This battle will take you at least a half hour to an hour to win. Once you win though, you'll be very proud of yourself.
18. The party must now find Ansem and defeat him. Where can they find him?

Answer: The End of the World

After having Cid attach the new Navi-Gummi onto the party's Gummi Ship the party can set off to the last world in the game. They finally encounter Ansem, who has disposed of his disguise as Riku and appears as himself. Destiny Islands would be a close guess since the area in which you encounter him is a sort of projection of Destiny Islands, but not the real thing.
19. Does Sora ever have to fight against Ansem alone?

Answer: Yes

On two different occasions, Sora must battle against Ansem all by himself. Once the final battle begins, Donald and Goofy are alongside Sora, but once you finish the first half of the first fight, Ansem moves into a crevasse he creates and only Sora may follow. Later in the fight against Ansem and Darkside, Sora is alone, but can rescue Donald and Goofy before proceeding to defeat Ansem.
20. Ansem, defeated by Sora, Donald, and Goofy, attempts to draw power from Kingdom Hearts. What does Sora say that Kingdom Hearts is?

Answer: Light

"Kingdom Hearts is light!" Sora realizes that Kingdom Hearts is not pure darkness as Ansem thought it was. Kingdom Hearts then shines light on Ansem, destroying him. However, with Kingdom Hearts unlocked Heartless begin to be drawn to the outside world. Realizing danger is afoot, Riku appears from the other side and King Mickey appears as well. Sora, Donald, and Goofy along with Riku and King Mickey close the door and seal it for good.
