Link's wolf form comes from his courage. The wolf is often fearless thus Link becomes the wolf!

Midna is actually the most helpful guide in the entire "Zelda" series. She isn't too fond of Link but the more time you spend with her the more she seems to like you.

True, Midna is a Twili but she is severely against the final boss. She really and truly cares about her world and its safety!

If you watch Zant SUPER CAREFULLY during the battle you'll see he has gone a little power-crazed and that craze affects his battle performance just enough in our Hero's favor.

I know, I know, Midna says nothing of her family but she DOES point out her ancestry and some of the history of the Twili to Link before Arbiter's Grounds.
NOTE: If you look closely at the back of Midna's hat you'll see something VERY interesting make sure you look when her hair lifts or make Link back up so her hair enters her head to see it, it's just below her ears!

Before Arbiter's Grounds she tells Link a story about her tribe's beliefs so when she saw him turn into a beast she figured she could use him. She followed the shadow beasts to find him and make him help her tribe to set them free of Zant's evil magic.

Princess Zelda willingly gives up her power to save Midna after the Light Spirit. Lanayru drowns her in his light making her weak and pale, but before Zelda does she tells Link of The Master Sword.
