1. What shelf can the Mechanical Age book be found on in the Myst Island library?

Answer: Bottom

The Mechanical Age book holds tips and hints to completing the age. You can find a book for each age on the shelf plus one book filled with squares in different patterns.

2. The tower on Myst Island must face the clock on an island to give you hints to finding the linking book for the Mechanical Age.

Answer: False

The tower must actually face the giant gear near the dock. Since you can't reach the marker on the island holding the clock, the only other logical choice is the gear because it relates to the Mechanical Age.

3. What time must the clock on Myst Island be set to for you to reach the clock island on Myst Island?

Answer: 2:40

This clue is given to you in the tower of Myst Library. To change the clock to this time, you need to use the control panel across from it and spin the big gear eight times and the little gear two times. Once this is done, you press the button, and presto, you have a bridge.

Answer: In the giant gear

By fiddling around with the levers in the clock, you can make the gear open. This can only be achieved by following a clue in the tower of the library because the numbers in the clock need to be 2, 2, 1 or else nothing will happen.

5. When you enter the fortress in the Mechanical Age, whose room is down the hallway to the right of the entrance?

Answer: Achenar's

Achenar is the darker son who had torture devices and creepy features in his previous two rooms. In this room, there are some swords and chains, and a secret passage behind his throne.

6. Where is Achenar's blue page?

Answer: On a shelf

If you enter the secret passage behind Achenar's throne, you can find a small secret room. The page is on the bottom self of a shelf covered with bottles and mortars and pestles.

7. Where is Sirrus' page found?

Answer: In a box

Again, you'll need to find a secret passage, but this time it's in Sirrus' room to the left of the entrance. To find the correct box containing the page, you'll need to click the top of the box to open it.

8. There is an elevator in the Mechanical Age.

Answer: True

If you follow the game and learn how to use the different levers and buttons in the age, then you may be using the elevator quite a bit. You can find the elevator between Achenar and Sirrus' rooms.

9. What direction will the fortress be facing when you access the linking book?

Answer: South

To turn the fortress, you'll need to play with those crazy levers and buttons inside. You won't be able to find any island to the west, but the other two islands contain important symbols.

10. How many symbols must be accumulated before you can unlock the linking book?

Answer: Four

These symbols can be found on the two items not containing the book. Once you've received the symbols, you can input them into the control panel and unlock the hatch to the linking book. The control panel and linking book are right beside the entrance to the age.
