Squirtle is most effective against most of the Gym Leaders.

3. If you choose Squirtle, who will your rival choose?

Answer: Bulbasaur

Your rival always chooses a Pokemon with an advantage over yours. If you choose Squirtle, he'll choose Bulbasaur because grass beats water. If you choose Bulbasaur, he'll choose Charmander because fire beats grass, and if you choose Charmander, he'll choose Squirtle because water beats fire.

4. What must you get at the PokeMart at Viridian City and deliver to Professor Oak in order to progess past Viridian City?

Answer: Oak's Parcel

An old man who is in a bad mood because he has not had his coffee will block your way until you deliver the Parcel.

5. Which of these Pokemon can be found in Viridian Forest?

This is one of the few places Pikachu can be found. You will get lost if you don't know where you're going, as this forest is kind of a maze.

You need HM03 for Surf, and you need the Gold Teeth to give to the Warden so he can give you HM04(Strength). You need both of these to get to the Elite Four.

16. What type of Pokemon does Koga, the Leader of the Gym in Fuschia City use?

Answer: Poison

His technique is to poison your Pokemon and put them to sleep, and then start chipping away at your HP.

17. When you beat Team Rocket at Silph Co. in Saffron City, what does the president of Silph Co. give to you?

Answer: Master Ball

This is an incredibly powerful Poke Ball. It should be used on Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres or Mewtwo. No matter what, a Pokemon can't escape from a Master Ball.

18. What type of Pokemon does Sabrina, the Leader of the Saffron City Gym use?

Answer: Psychic

This is an easy battle, but if you aren't prepared her strong Psychic Pokemon will beat yours.

19. How do you get into Cinnabar Island Gym?

Answer: You need the Secret Key

On the other side of the island, there is an abandoned warehouse which you must navigate through to find the Secret Key.

20. What type of Pokemon does Blaine, the Cinnabar Island Gym Leader use?

Answer: Fire

If you picked Squirtle at the beginning of the game, your Blastoise should wipe out Blaine easily.

21. What type of Pokemon does Giovanni, the Leader at the Viridian City Gym use?

Answer: Ground

Giovanni is also the Leader of Team Rocket. This is a very tough battle, because his ground Pokemon are extremely strong. I hope you picked Squirtle!

22. What is the name of the Legendary Bird that you can pick up in Victory Road, on your way to the Indigo Plateau and Elite Four?

Answer: Moltres

Moltres is a great addition to any team. There are 2 other Legendary Birds that you might want to catch to help you with the Elite Four: Zapdos lives in the Power Plant, which is near the Cerulean City entrance of the Rock Tunnel. Articuno lives in the Seafoam Islands, which are in between Fuschia and Cinnabar.

23. What is the correct order of the Elite Four in the order that you face them, starting with the first?

Answer: Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, Lance

Lorelei uses ice- and water-types, Bruno uses fighting- and rock- types, Agatha uses ghost-, poison- and psychic-types, and Lance uses dragon-types.

24. After you beat the Elite Four, you have to face another trainer who already beat the Elite Four. Until you beat him, this trainer is the Pokemon League Champion. Who is he?

Answer: Your Rival

Your Rival is easily the hardest trainer of the game. If you beat him, you will be the Champion. He has a well-balanced team, so you will need more than one Pokemon to beat him.

25. After you catch all 150 Pokemon, you can get your Diploma. What city can you receive this in?

Answer: Celadon City

Although the Diploma itself doesn't do anything, it's a decent prize for catching all 150 Pokemon. You can find it in Celadon, in the tall building(not the PokeMart). Just go in the building and ask around and you'll find someone who'll give you your diploma.
