1. Which area of the game is notorious for players dying within it?

Answer: Wilderness

The Wilderness is a PvP area meaning that players can attack you at any moment granted they are the proper level. In certain areas you may even lose all of your items!
2. Which creature is notorious for having a combat level just over 9000?

Answer: Ferret of Doom

This creature is encountered within the Dungeoneering sagas. Its level is a reference to "Dragon Ball Z".
3. Which skill involves killing creatures assigned to you?

Answer: Slayer

Slayer is a skill that is trained by obtaining a task from a Slayer master and fighting those creatures assigned until the designated amount is fulfilled. The creatures you will be assigned are based on your level in the skill.
4. Before the creation of the Grand Exchange, which city was known as the "trade town"?

Answer: Falador

The garden in Falador was used primarily for trading at one point in the game. Players would gather to sell/barter whatever items they had to trade.
