Where In The Shadow Sector Would You Find...? Quiz

Since Vox's transport ship only travels to a small number of planets in "Ratchet: Gladiator"/"Deadlocked", you should have no trouble recalling where these ten things are. Good luck, and may you get out of DreadZone alive.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One of the new vehicles encountered in this game is the Landstalker. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find the first Landstalker challenge?

Answer: Catacrom 4

The area on Catacrom 4 where the DreadZone challenges take place was once a sacred robot burial ground, but robot zombies dig their way to the surface and come after Ratchet if he gets close enough. To reach the Landstalker, Ratchet must cross what Dallas likes to call 'The Pit of Endless Falling and Eventual Dying'.

The Landstalker is a four-legged vehicle that can shoot using machine guns and mortar launchers mounted on the main cabin.
2. The challenge called 'Prison Break' pits Ratchet against some of DreadZone's toughest foes. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find the 'Prison Break' challenge?

Answer: Ghost Station

Just killed Ace Hardlight? Think you've finished the game? Think again. Ratchet is sent off to the Ghost Station to complete yet another campaign which is, according to DreadZone employees, mathematically impossible to survive. The ghosts of foes defeated through the game reappear in this level to even the score with Ratchet, so Ratchet must fight his way through hordes of them to destroy the Ghost Station once and for all.
3. The space lighthouse has been purposely shutdown by DreadZone, so Ratchet must restore power to it to proceed. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find the space lighthouse?

Answer: The Valix Belt

The Valix Belt is a cluster of asteroids that are potentially dangerous to passing spaceships, so a lighthouse was constructed to alert pilots to avoid the asteroids, in much the same way a lighthouse functions on Earth. Unfortunately, Gleeman Vox thought it would be fun to cut the power to the lighthouse, so Ratchet must endeavour to restore power by killing even more DreadZone bad guys.
4. It just goes up and up and up. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find the Tower of Power?

Answer: DreadZone Station

The Tower of Power is part of the arena challenges at the Dreadzone Station. Ratchet must fight his way right to the top, destroying Cycloids and Beam Turrets, and jumping quickly between collapsing and flipping platforms on the way up, only to face even more enemies in a few rounds of arena combat.
5. It's cold, it's dank, it's scary! Where in the Shadow Sector would you find the abandoned toy factories?

Answer: Torval

Once a series of factories devoted to manufacturing Ace Hardlight toys, the ruins of Planet Torval hold danger around every corner. The factories had to be shutdown due to poor sales, and an infestation of robot zombies. Vox reopened the factory planet, not for manufacturing, but as a DreadZone battlecourse. Ratchet must fight his way through each of the challenges to eventually blow up a statue of Ace Hardlight that conceals an escape pod.
6. Trying to kill the King Leviathan is more fun than a bus-load of cheerleaders, but just where in the Shadow Sector would you find the King Leviathan?

Answer: Sarathos

The mother, or rather King, of all Leviathans lurks in a small arena in the final challenge on the planet Sarathos. Ratchet must defend his combat bots as they use their Hacker Rays on hacking targets around the outside of the arena to awaken the King Leviathan, whereupon they destroy it before it destroys them. Juanita, as usual, roots for the Leviathan.
7. Four Exterminators dominate the DreadZone games, but only one of them is fought outside of the DreadZone Battledome. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find Shellshock?

Answer: Kronos

Shellshock, once an intelligent robot specialising in ammunition, is now a DreadZone contestant who has risen to the rank of Exterminator. The fight between him and Ratchet takes place in the Dark Cathedral of Kronos. His brain was destroyed by a cruise missile during the Obani Moon wars, and was subsequently replaced by the AI chip from a coffee machine. According to Dallas, he now feels no pain, and makes a great cappuccino.
8. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find an oil refinery, in which Ratchet must destroy a Blargian factory as part of the DreadZone challenge?

Answer: Orxon

Orxon made its first appearance in "Ratchet & Clank", and was virtually uninhabitable, due to Chairman Drek polluting it so much. This was why Ratchet needed the O2 Mask to venture out of his ship. Returning to Orxon as a DreadZone contestant, it appears the planet has been made less inhospitable, possibly by terraforming, as there seems to be a lot less noxious gas and it is raining.
9. Ding-dong! The bells are ringing in Ratchetland! He better watch his step on this cold planet. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find snow?

Answer: Shaar

Shaar is a barren ice world that once contained sacred temples that were turned into yet another DreadZone battlecourse. Getting to the temples is no easy task, as they are guarded by no less than three Stalker Turrets and two enemy Landstalkers!
10. Where in the Shadow Sector would you find an old, disused prison, where Ratchet's combat bots are taken and locked up?

Answer: Maraxus

Merc and Green, Ratchet's combat bots, are contained within two prison blocks - Beta Block and Delta Block. Once Ratchet frees his bots, and gains the status of first DreadZone contestant to survive up to this point, he sets about blasting things around the perimeter, whilst taking control of various control nodes. Upon completing this campaign, the Liberator tournament unlocks, where Ratchet can battle the top exterminator, Ace Hardlight himself.
