The 1953 German Gran Prix held on 2 August 1953 at the Nürburgring saw three East German drivers: Edgar Barth, Rudolf Krause and Ernst Klodwig. Krause and Klodwig finished 14th and 15th respectively, Barth stopped the race in lap 14 due to exhaust problems.
