Andy's carrying a fly rod reel in this photo of the statue of him and Opie. Opie's reel looks like a good old Zebco, and I'd guess Andy's rod (Eagle Eye Annie) is a Shakespeare, popular for many years.

One person on the "Fiberglass Flyrodders" forum says he thinks he's identified the casting rod as a Shakespeare Wonderod from the '50s.
