On November 15, 1991, Village People founder Jacques Morali died from AIDS complications in Paris, France. Morali contracted HIV during the mid-1980s. AIDS claimed his life in 1991 at the age of 45.

Morali was infected by HIV in the mid-1980s and died of AIDS in 1991. He was buried in Saint-Paul-de-Vence (France).
